Seth Rogen’s story will give you a very different impression of Hollywood’s one of the most gentlemanly actors. Rogen shared in a 2021 interview that Tom Cruise had tried to talk about Scientology to him and Judd Apatow in 2006. At the time, Rogen was another up-and-coming actor in the industry. He shared that it was Apatow, who helped him out in the situation.

Since the release of the Where Is Wendy Williams docuseries, fans have been wondering just that. Several people took to Reddit to discuss the former daytime TV host’s whereabouts. Here is what has been revealed about where Wendy Williams is and if she’ll ever be back in the spotlight.
Where In The World Is Wendy Williams?
One Reddit user took to the platform to ask the question that everyone seems to be wondering since the release of the Lifetime doc: where in the world is Wendy Williams?
“I know the public is not owed anything, but this is almost starting to get a Shelly Miscavige vibe, right? As far as we know, her family still doesn’t know where she is. We never see a photo of her (unlike other celebrities who were under guardianships/conservatorships and/or were diagnosed with dementia). It’s like she disappeared,” they started the discussion.

A Los Angeles judge has thrown out portions of Leah Remini’s lawsuit against Scientology, finding that some of the church’s attacks on her are protected under the First Amendment.
But in a mixed ruling, the judge also found that the church cannot claim free-speech protection for allegedly stalking, harassing and surveilling Remini, or for harassing producers and staff who worked on her anti-Scientology podcast.
Since leaving Scientology in 2013, the “King of Queens” actor has become its most prominent critic, writing a memoir and hosting two seasons of the A&e docuseries, “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”
Last August, she filed a 68-page lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging she had been subject to a decade of online attacks, stalking and intimidation designed to punish her for her criticism of the church.

There are movie stars and then there is Tom Cruise. Forty years a star, enough classics to make listing even a few here pointless, and, now, someone who can stake a legitimate claim to saving Hollywood (or at least jolting some life into that lazy, bloated monstrosity). Last year’s Top Gun: Maverick, with its millions at the box office, helped rescue the movies and movie theaters from the brink of Covid-19 and streaming. This year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the seventh and ostensibly penultimate installment of the secret agent series,...

Leah Remini‘s two years into her education at New York University and she’s taking a step back to admire her progress despite, she says, “spending 35 years in a cult.”
The 52-year-old actress took to Instagram on Friday to share that she recently completed her second year at the prestigious university. She was in tears just two years ago after announcing her admission into an associate’s program in liberal arts. Fast forward to now, the “King of Queens” star is adamant that it’s “never too late to start again.”
“Two years ago, I had an 8th-grade education thanks to spending 35 years in a cult,” she began her post. “And now, at age 52, I’ve successfully finished my second year at NYU. Undertaking this educational journey has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life. There have been days where I’ve thought about giving up.

The director of the Scientology documentary Going Clear has said he is “surprised” there hasn’t been a “reckoning” for Tom Cruise.
The Top Gun: Maverick star is one of the highest profile members of the Church of Scientology, having joined the controversial religion in the 1980s.
Alex Gibney is a filmmaker known for directing the 2015 film Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.
The film, which was vehemently denounced by the Church of Scientology upon its release, made a number of shocking allegations about the organisation, involving claims of abuse inflicted upon members and misconduct among its leadership. Representatives of the church denied the allegations.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine in a new interview, Gibney was asked what it was like to see Cruise endure as the “King of Hollywood”.
The interviewer begins by suggesting that Cruise “hasn’t had to answer a single question about [his involvement in Scientology] in the...

With the 95th annual Academy Awards officially in the rear-view mirror, Variety has published a deep-dive look at how Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney, Kimmel’s producer and spouse, had to duck, weave, and stay nimble to put the opening monologue together. Much of it had to do with which celebs would already be seated (Rihanna taking her time on the champagne-colored red carpet caused some truly last-minute changes), as did Tom Cruise’s decision a few days prior to skip the event.
While Cruise was dissed by the academy by not being one of the Best Actor candidates, he was up for a long-shot award as a producer for Best Picture nominee “Top Gun: Maverick.” The 60-year-old A-lister did make an appearance a month ago for the “Oscars class picture.”
Apparently, Kimmel had a slew of “Top Gun”-related gags ready (he still parachuted onto the stage) but most had to get cut.

In his new ad campaign, former Navy prosecutor Ron DeSantis dons an aviator outfit replete with goggles, billing himself as “Top Gov” and spoiling for a dogfight against the liberal-leaning media. Those who disagree with his positions are promptly dis-invited to future speeches or press conferences.
Will this strategy appeal to a broad audience, or will it limit the Florida governor to a “niche”? Top Gov has his eyes on the widest niche — the presidency — and hence has set his campaign on a political version of Cruise control. Says his top communications aide, ”We know the media hates us and hates everything we stand for.”
Does DeSantis honestly believe he can unite the Republican Party by being even more polarizing than Donald Trump was before he was voted out and, many charge, fomented an attempt at a government overthrow by his unruly hardline base, the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers crowd?...

Another year, another Golden Globes. Usually filled with surprising and oftentimes controversial moments, the Golden Globes are typically thought of as the wild younger brother to the Oscars. Hosts have gotten in trouble over their comments, presenters have made rough jokes, and Los Angeles just recently investigated the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for its severe lack of diversity. For these reasons, especially the last reason, they declined to televise it in 2022. The Globes needed to take a year off to recalibrate and find their footing again. This is the first year officially back, so the anticipation was pretty intense. What would they look like this year? Who would present? A past Seth Rogen interview has resurfaced after Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael shocked the audience with a Scientology comment about Tom Cruise.
During the ceremony, Carmichael joked: “Backstage, I found these three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned. I think maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige.”
Miscavige is a member of the Church of Scientology, and is married to its leader David Miscavige. She has not been seen in public since 2007. Cruise is a known Scientologist, and has been a member for 30 years.
While promoting his 2021 book of essays, Yearbook, Rogen appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show and recalled the time he and director Judd Apatow were invited to Cruise’s house around 2006.

Seth Rogen is recalling an experience that could have ended up super badly.
The “Fabelmans” star detailed in a newly resurfaced 2021 SiriusXM interview with Howard Stern that Tom Cruise tried to pitch Scientology to him and Judd Apatow in 2006. According to Rogen, Cruise compared the media treatment of Black supremacist, anti-Semitic religious leader Louis Farrakhan to how Scientology is marred in the press.
“A few hours into the meeting, the Scientology stuff comes up,” Rogen recalled of the past discussion with Cruise. “He said, ‘I think the pharmaceutical industry is making me look bad. You should see what they do to my friend Louis Farrakhan.'”
Rogen continued, “I’ll never forget the wording he used: ‘It’s like with Scientology. If you let me just tell you what it was really about, just give me like 20 minutes to, like, really just tell you what it was about. You would say no fucking way.

Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael shocked the crowd with a Scientology comment about Tom Cruise.
The comedian addressed the fact that, in 2022, Cruise returned the Golden Globe trophies he won in the past amid a boycott of the awards’ organisers, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
The controversy followed an exposé into the lack of diversity within the HFPA, and a separate ethics scandal.

Jerrod Carmichael did not hold back while hosting the Golden Globes on Tuesday. In one of his most shocking jokes, the comedian took shots at the Church of Scientology and one of its most famous members, Tom Cruise, who starred in Top Gun: Maverick.

The Golden Globes were last night, and while much of the focus shines on the glitz and star power, one part that always gets attention the next morning is the jokes. And there were plenty of jokes at the Golden Globes, some more shocking than others.

Ok, so let’s talk about Jerrod Carmichael’s Shelly Miscavige joke at Tuesday night’s 80th Golden Globe Awards. If my Twitter feed is any indication — and I’m well aware that it mostly isn’t — that is the thing people are discussing from the Globes. That and pianist Chloe Flower, who was Not playing winners off of the stage in the middle portion of the show.
So Carmichael came out cradling a trio of Globe statues in his arm.
“Backstage, I found these three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned…” Carmichael said. The audience of stars laughed appreciatively. “Look, I’m just the host, briefly or whatever, but I have a pitch: I think maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige.”
Several members of the audience “Ooh”-ed. Two or three cackled. The primary sound, though, was silence.

The 80th Golden Globes were handed out Tuesday night. In case you missed the telecast, here are some of the most memorable moments.
Golden Globes Host Jerrod Carmichael Mocks HFPA Scandal …
Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael immediately tackled the elephant in the room at the start of the show, which returned to NBC for the first time in two years, in a highly unusual and rather candid monologue. Taking a conversational seat at the edge of the Beverly Hilton stage, Carmichael said: “I’ll tell you why I’m here: I’m here ‘cause I’m Black. I’ll tell you what’s been going on. This show, the Golden Globe Awards, did not air last year because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — which I won’t say were a racist organization, but they didn’t have a single Black member until George Floyd died. So do with that information what you will.

American comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who is hosting the ongoing 80th edition of the Golden Globe Awards, is spitting fire punchlines. Hollywood star Will Smith may not have attended the Golden Globe this year but he was in the ceremony in spirit as Jerrod joked about Will Smith Globes presenting Smith with the ‘Rock Hudson award for best portrayal of masculinity’ on television owing to last year Oscars slapgate where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock.
However, the audience did not seem amused. Carmichael himself appeared slightly hesitant, anticipating their tepid reaction, as he rushed out the words.
Jerrod also took a dig at Kanye West over his anti-Semitic remarks. While on stage, the comedian engaged with Steven Spielberg about his semi-autobiographical film ‘The Fabelmans’ which tells the tale of a Jewish family, saying it “changed Kanye’s (West) mind.”
In recent months, West has been criticised for making a slew of anti-Semitic remarks.

Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael stayed true to his biting comedy as he stunned the audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with a Shelly Miscavige joke during Tuesday’s ceremony, poking fun at “Top Gun” star and Scientologist Tom Cruise who returned his three Golden Globe awards in protest in 2021.
“Backstage, I found these three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned,” Carmichael said while struggling to hold the three awards in his arms. “I think maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige,” he said to audible gasps, referencing the wife of notable Scientology leader David Miscavige.
On top of that, Carmichael made his remarks ahead of announcing “Top Gun: Maverick” actors as presenters — yikes.

From the moment he stepped on stage to host the 80th Golden Globe awards, Jerrod Carmichael never shied away from making his audience uncomfortable. His opening monologue skewered the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for its diversity struggles that led to the award show being cancelled in 2021, and he got honest about his initial hesitancy to take the hosting job.
“I won’t say they were a racist organization, but they didn’t have a single Black member until George Floyd died,” he said. “Do with that what you will.”
But his sharpest dig of the night was aimed at somebody who wasn’t even in the room: Tom Cruise.
While “Top Gun: Maverick” was nominated for two Golden Globe awards including Best Motion Picture — Drama, Cruise was unsurprisingly absent from the ceremony. The actor famously returned three of his Golden Globes when the racial controversy engulfed the HFPA in 2021. But...

Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael did a bombing run at Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise during the 80th annual awards presentation Tuesday night.
Midway through the NBC event, Carmichael took to the stage holding three Golden Globes trophies.
“Backstage, I found these three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned,” he said. “Look, I’m just a host briefly or whatever, but I have a pitch. I think maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige.”
There was an awkward pause.
“Anyway, from Top Gun: Maverick, please welcome Glen Powell and Jay Ellis!” Carmichael then said.
Some background: Cruise returned his previously won Globes after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association became embroiled in scandal in 2021 for, among other things, a severe lack of diversity in its member ranks. Then Cruise was snubbed for a nomination this year in the best actor...

Jerrod Carmichael roasted Tom Cruise during the Golden Globes, tackling the actor’s decision in 2021 to return his three Golden Globe awards in protest of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Carmichael was introducing presenters Glen Powell and Jay Ellis, Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick” co-stars, when he appeared on stage with three trophies in his hands.
“Hey, guys backstage I found these,” Carmichael said. “[It’s the] three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned. I’m just a host briefly, or whatever, but I have a pitch I think. Maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige.”
Carmichael evoked Scientology by referencing Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige. Cruise is a public member of the church. Shelly has allegedly not been seen in public in many years. Former Scientology member Leah Remini has often used social media to question Shelly’s whereabouts.

Jerrod Carmichael opted for brutal honesty as the host of the 80th Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday.
“I’ll tell you why I’m here. I’m here ’cause I’m Black,” he said, opening the show. This was the first Golden Globes Ceremony since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association came under fire in 2020 for controversies including a lack of diversity and unethical financial practices.
“I’ll catch everyone in the room up,” Carmichael continued. “The Golden Globe Awards did not air last year. I won’t say they were a racist organization, but they didn’t have a single Black member until George Floyd died, so do with that information what you will.”
Carmichael then walked the audience through his process of deciding to take the job of Golden Globes host: “I was at home, drinking tea, when I got a phone call from my man Stephen Hill. He said,...

CBS is still employing Ian Metrose, the senior network executive who in 2017 acted as a go-between for an LAPD captain accused of leaking confidential information about sexual assault allegations filed against then-ceo Les Moonves, TheWrap has learned.
Metrose, a 20-year veteran of the network who serves as SVP of talent relations and special events, was one of a handful of CBS executives named last week in a report by New York Attorney General Letitia James – but the only one still working there. The report is the basis for a 24.5 million settlement that Paramount Global and Moonves agreed to pay to CBS shareholders over Moonves’ 2018 ouster after the sex abuse claims finally came to light.
According to James’ report, Metrose was an intermediary between a now-retired LAPD captain and senior CBS executives to obtain unredacted, confidential police reports, which they used to suppress news about the accusations against Moonves for weeks...
