Amid Amber Heard’s return to the spotlight, the actress has also returned to social media.
The “Aquaman” star took to Instagram on Friday to share a snapshot of herself smiling onstage at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy last weekend, which she attended to promote her film “In the Fire”.
The outing marked Heard’s first festival appearance since her defamation trial with ex-husband, Johnny Depp, in which the seven-person jury reached a verdict in Depp’s favour last June.
“Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception at the Taormina Film festival for my latest movie ‘In the Fire’. It was an unforgettable weekend,” Heard captioned her first Instagram post since December 2022, seemingly returning to social media after a six-month hiatus.

Amber Heard’s coworkers say she’s become more “resilient” after her experiences.
The actress stepped out at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy with the director of her new film, Conor Allyn.
The “In the Fire” director told Deadline that he was “so happy” that while Heard “went through something so awful,” the experience “didn’t change her as a person.”

Heard faced her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, in a widely-televised defamation trial in June 2022. The verdict saw her owing the actor over $10M in damages.
“She’s still the shining light … and to go through something that terrible and be able to come out the other side and be whole, well, I can’t imagine it,” he told the outlet.
Her co-star in the thriller, Luca Calvani, was similarly supportive of Heard.

Exclusive: I meet Amber Heard in the café of a hotel in Sicily and when she reaches to shake hands, the ice breaker becomes the tan orthopedic brace cradling that wrist.
“I wish I had a better story, but I was swatting a fly — though in my opinion it was a mosquito which makes it extra annoying — and I missed, and tripped over my daughter’s little stepping stool, and caught myself with my wrist,” she said. “I have tendinitis in the same wrist, and while my usual sound medical approach is to ignore it and hope it goes away, that wasn’t an option because it would just linger.”

The 69th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily saw the world premiere Saturday of the paranormal psychological thriller “In the Fire,” which marks the return to the big screen of Amber Heard following two highly publicized trials involving her former husband Johnny Depp.
On the turquoise carpet, Heard greeted a crowd of fans — accompanied by paparazzi and tourists — who shouted words of encouragement at the “Aquaman” star.
The producers and festival organizers had worried about possible demonstrations by Depp supporters. Producer Pascal Borno told Variety he had to persuade the Italian police to provide extra security after receiving online threats. “They took it seriously and afterwards I promised them selfies with Amber,” he said.
Despite the initial trepidation, the atmosphere of the crowd was one of the usual celebrity-adjacent excitement. One family visiting from New York remarked to Variety that they thought Heard was “gutsy.”
“I was relieved to see how they shouted for her.

"Aquaman" actor Amber Heard returned to the red carpet one year after her and ex-husband Johnny Depp's defamation trial came to an end. On June 23, Heard promoted her upcoming film "In the Fire" at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy.
Heard was all smiles as she walked the red carpet (which was technically teal) wearing a long, black gown that was accentuated with a cape at the shoulders. The actor wore her blond hair down and in curly ringlets. In photos from the event, Heard can be seen laughing with her costars, including Luca Calvani and Eduardo Noriega, and with the movie's director, Conor Allyn. Italy’s Taormina Film Festival kicks off its 69th edition Friday evening against the backdrop of its landmark Teatro Antico amphitheatre with a “Pavarotti Forever” benefit event headlined by Placido Domingo and Vittorio Grigolo.
It’s not the typical opening for a film festival, but it is in keeping with the eclectic programming of incoming artistic director Barrett Wissman, whose interview with Deadline on his plans for the festival can be read here.
Much is riding on the edition, with Wissman being brought in to raise its local and international profile after a turbulent decade, which was compounded by the Covid pandemic.
Topping the bill over the first weekend is the Italian premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny in the presence of Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen. It’s the first time a major Disney production has touched down at the festival since Inside Out in 2015. Indiana Jones,...

'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' 2015: Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' movie is a domestic box office bomb: Will it be saved by international filmgoers? Directed by Sherlock Holmes' Guy Ritchie and toplining Man of Steel star Henry Cavill and The Lone Ranger costar Armie Hammer, the Warner Bros. release The Man from U.N.C.L.E. has been a domestic box office disaster, performing about 25 percent below – already quite modest – expectations. (See also: “'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' Movie: Bigger Box Office Flop Than Expected.”) This past weekend, the $80 million-budget The Man from U.N.C.L.E. collected a meager $13.42 million from 3,638 North American theaters, averaging $3,689 per site. After five days out, the big-screen reboot of the popular 1960s television series starring Robert Vaughn and David McCallum has taken in a mere $16.77 million. For comparison's sake:...

Luca visited our NYC studio this week to speak about his bond with the cast and his experience making the very fun film.

'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' with Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' box office: Bigger domestic flop than expected? Before I address the box office debacle of Warner Bros.' The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I'd like remark upon the fact that 2015 has been a notable year at the North American box office. That's when the dinosaurs of Jurassic World smashed Hulk and his fellow Halloween-costumed Marvel superheroes of Avengers: Age of Ultron. And smashed them good: $636.73 million vs. $457.52 million. (See also: 'Jurassic World' beating 'The Avengers' worldwide and domestically?) At least in part for sentimental (or just downright morbid) reasons – Paul Walker's death in a car accident in late 2013 – Furious 7 has become by far the highest-grossing The Fast and the Furious movie in the U.S. and Canada: $351.03 million. (Shades of Heath Ledger's unexpected death...

'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' with Henry Cavill. 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' box office: Hollywood's third domestic bomb in a row Right on the heels of Chris Columbus-Adam Sandler's Pixels and Josh Trank's Fantastic Four comes The Man from U.N.C.L.E., a big screen adaptation of the 1960s television series, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Man of Steel hero Henry Cavill and The Lone Ranger costar Armie Hammer. (See updated follow-up post: “'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' Overseas things are a little better: an estimated $73.6 million as of Aug. 9, for a worldwide total of approx. $134.71 million. Sounds profitable? Well, not yet. We've supplied blurbs from a few of the critics, below. Alonso Duralde from TheWrap, gave it a 78 grade, saying: "This new Man from U.N.C.L.E. would be an instant masterpiece if it were consistently as good as its best parts, but even as a hit-and-miss affair, it’s a bracing bit of late-summer fun for anyone who has given up the notion of a major studio offering anything truly revelatory until at least October.

Oh my, is it be “spy time” once more? Already? Wow, 2015 has been a big movie year for all those “cloak and dagger” undercover men (and women)! Early in the year, audiences were introduced to the “hush-hush” exploits of Kingsmen: The Secret Service, ripped fresh from a very adult graphic novel. As Summer began to heat up, funny lady Melissa McCarthy took satiric aim at the genre in Spy (aided by action vets Jason Statham and Jude Law). And just two weeks ago, film fans were gasping at the daredevil work of Tom Cruise, risking life and limb in his fifth go-round as Ethan Hunt, leader of the Imf in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (number one at the box office for the last couple weekends). And before the end of the year, the king of “gentlemen agents”, 007 Aka James Bond returns in his (official) twenty-fourth action extravaganza feature film Spectre.

Warner Bros. are spending this afternoon getting some ducks in a row for their slate of upcoming blockbusters, so let's dive right in. We're just a few months away before "Godzilla" once again stomps the Earth, and a monstrous new poster is here via Yahoo to let you know just how big the creature is. Yep, there's the lizard strolling through San Francisco, with the Transamerica Pyramid barely reaching his shoulder. Gareth Edward's film is dropping on May 16th, and if you need a reason to see this, the cast alone should get you through the door: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. And while the star power behind "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." might not be as huge as the monster flick, Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Hugh Grant, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki and Luca Calvani are no slouches and neither is director Guy.
