It is an understatement to say that Bruce Lee left a massive impact through his short filmography. After being denied a lead role by the Shaw Brothers studio, Lee signed onto an upstart company called Golden Harvest whose subsequent films made him into an international star. As his tragic death came on the cusp of kung-fu movies being introduced to the global market, a question lingered about who would replace Lee.

Severin Films and Alamo Drafthouse today announced the 21-market theatrical engagement of the award-winning documentary Enter The Clones Of Bruce beginning April 12th at Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles. In addition – and direct from Hong Kong – legendary Bruce clone Bruce Le will make rare personal appearances at screenings in LA (4/12-14), San Francisco (4/16), Austin (4/18) and New York City (4/20-21), which will also feature screenings of Le/Bruceploitation classics that include The Dragon Lives Again, Enter The Game Of Death, Ninja Strikes Back and The Challenge Of The Tiger.

The press release for Wanted Man describes writer/director/star Dolph Lundgren’s character like this, “Johansen is an ageing detective, whose outdated policing methods have given the department a recent public relations problem.” Those outdated methods include beating up a suspect while making what could be taken as racist remarks, all in full view of a news crew.

In case that isn’t enough to let us know what he thinks of his neighbours to the South, we get to see him hang out at a strip club with some buddies, including Brenner, Hilts and Tinelli trading comments about how disgusting Mexicans are. And to cap off the night, he has to be stopped from attacking another Mexican in the parking lot.

Vintage martial arts film fans rejoice as the 70s classic, The Shaolin Plot, is set for a 2K restoration release on Blu-ray. The Mvd Entertainment Group has just released a trailer for Arrow Video’s new physical copy release of the Sammo Hung film. The Shaolin Plot comes from director Huang Feng (director of Lady Whirlwind & When Taekwando Strikes), the father of modern Kung Fu films and a mentor to John Woo (Face/Off) and Stanley Tong (Rumble in the Bronx). The cast features Sammo Hung, James Tien and Cassanova Wong.

Exclusive: Quiver Distribution has picked up North American rights to the action thriller Wanted Man, co-written, directed by and starring Dolph Lundgren, for release in select theaters and on VOD on January 19, 2024.

Also starring Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) and Christina Villa (The Wedding in the Hamptons), the film centers on Johansen (Lundgren), an aging detective whose outdated policing methods have given the department a recent public relations problem. If you need proof that you never know what’s going on in people’s lives before you get a look behind the beaded curtain, I’ve got a story for you. Rocky IV and The Expendables franchise star Dolph Lundgren revealed he’s been battling cancer for the past eight years. During a nationally syndicated interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Lundgren said he’d been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015.

While Lundgren says he went into remission, the cancer returned with a vengeance in 2020. His doctor gave him a terminal diagnosis, saying he only had 2-3 years to live. When the actor’s cancer returned, Lundgren’s fiancée Emma Krokdal said the doctors found tumors in his lungs, spine, and kidneys. Dolph made peace with the diagnosis, thinking he would die within a finite period.

The Tribeca Film Festival 2023, presented by Okx, today announced its full lineup of feature narrative, documentary, and animated films. This year’s Festival, which takes place June 7-18, showcases the best emerging talent from across the globe alongside established names.

World Premiering as part of this year’s “Escape from Tribeca” section, a “Psychotronic Sidebar presenting genre movies from around the globe, plus giveaways, and special events,” Enter the Clones of Bruce is a feature length documentary that explores the Bruce Lee exploitation craze, otherwise known as Bruceploitation.

Wong Fei-hung (1847-1925) was a real person, but through the many interpretations of him and his life, played by actors like Kwan Tak-hing, Jackie Chan (Drunken Master), Jet Li (Once Upon a Time in China and Last Hero in China) and, briefly, Sammo Hung (Around the World in 80 Days), he has become something of a mythic figure. Exclusive: Here comes the AFM brawn. The Expendables and Aquaman star Dolph Lundgren is set to direct and star in action pic Wanted Man, which Millennium Media is launching ahead of the virtual AFM.

Lundgren has also penned the script with Michael Worth (Killing Cupid).

In Wanted Man, when a cartel shooting leaves several DEA agents dead, an ageing police officer must retrieve an eyewitness and escort her across the border. But when they learn that the attack was executed by American forces, he must decide who to trust.

Producers are Jeffrey Greenstein and Jonathan Yunger of Millennium Media. Executive producers for Millennium are Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, and Trevor Short.

Most people don.t know, or at least know very little, about the Pow camps that the United States

maintained during World War II. Numbering in the hundreds, in nearly every state of the Union, these

camps at their peak housed almost half a million German and Japanese prisoners. Films based on these

camps have been few (Summer Of My German Soldier, Farewell To Manzanar, Come See The

Paradise) and mostly grim reminders of a dark period in American history. Fort McCoy, a new movie

co-directed by Michael Worth and writer/star Kate Connor, tells a fact-based story set against the

backdrop of the Army base of the title, of one summer in the life of an American family, circa 1944.

SyFy Channel should consider rebranding. They do a better job with the fantasy films they choose than the science fiction and terror products combined. Jabberwock is a simple tongue-in-cheek tale that plays with Lewis Carroll’s nonsense poem, but spells the monster’s name without the y.

Either there were copyright issues that the film's producers could not wrangle, or they were simply trying to be original. To loosely base the monster on the design by artist John Tenniel gives this film a continuity that is much appreciated. Not every detail, like the creature’s long antennae, canonical beard and broad buckteeth are recreated, but any avid arts aficionado will recognize the silhouette.

Jabberwock stars Michael Worth (“Acapulco H.E.A.T.”, Sasquatch Mountain), Tahmoh Penikett (“Battlestar Galactica”, Trick ‘r Treat), and Kacey Barnfield (Resident Evil: Afterlife, Lake Placid 3). Rafael Jordan (Frost Giant, Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon) and Raul Inglis (Sand Serpents, Goblin) handled the scripting duties.

Here’s a rather spoiler-y synopsis for Jabberwock courtesy of the film’s distributors at American World Pictures that was clearly written by someone who confused the concept of synopsis with treatment. Whoever wrote it also doesn’t have much need for silly things like paragraphs. Believe me, when I start giving grammar lessons, you've got problems.

If you tune in to the Syfy channel on September 10, 9pm Et/8pm Central, you'll find yourself fending off a vicious beast known as the Jabberwock. Since no monster film can slide by without us taking a peep at the creature, we did some digging and have come up with the very first stills of said creature!

Synopsis

In this sci-fi/fantasy tale, Jabberwock chronicles the story of a young squire (Michael Worth) who, alongside his brother (Tahmoh Penikett), must become a warrior to save his people and the woman he loves (Kacey Barnfield) after a horrific beast is unleashed on the village.

Hunt (Peter Fonda) meets Mac (Gary Sinise) at his office on the basis of being sent a text, but Mac didn't send it. In a split second, a barrage of bullets hit the crime lab. What was Lindsay (Anna Belknap) doing walking too and fro back there anyway, not like she was actually doing anything, no but she had to get in on the action! Just so Mac can rescue his pet Lindsay. Never mind coming to the aid of the 'extra' lab assistant, and she was shot, Lindsay wasn't; worse luck. Oh never mind I'm just projecting my personal opinions, at least something exciting should happen to this pointless character. According to Screen Daily American World Pictures has closed key territory sales on its fantasy adventure Jabberwocky, led by a UK deal with Artificial Eye.

Steven R Monroe directed Tahmoh Penikett, Michael Worth and Kacey Barnfield in the Awp and Bron Studios production about a young warrior who defends his land from a supernatural beast. Raul Inglis and Rafael Jordan wrote the screenplay.

The director of I Spit on Your Grave 2010, Steven R. Monroe, is back with another tale of terror and a whole new beast to unleash. Get ready for several exclusive stills from Jabberwocky.
