It’s hard to imagine Tom Cruise saying goodbye to Ethan Hunt, the character he’s dutifully portrayed since 1996’s Mission: Impossible. But the teaser for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which dropped today, sure makes it seem like the end of the road for a character that’s outlasted countless crises, two James Bonds, and five presidential administrations.

Many characters have come and gone from "Yellowstone." The series announced itself as a show unafraid to write off even key characters by immediately killing off Lee Dutton, son of Kevin Costner's John Dutton III, who met his fate at the end of the pilot episode of "Yellowstone." Other characters have faded in and out of the series as it has gone on. Taylor Sheridan cast himself as horse trainer Travis Wheatley, who initially showed up in season 1 for an episode, then a handful of episodes in season 2, before being absent altogether from season 3. The character then cropped up in a recurring capacity in season 4, but was once again missing from season 5A.
Similarly, Canadian actress Tanaya Beatty played the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch horse groomer Avery in season 1. When she's first introduced, Avery is recruited by Cole Hauser's Rip Wheeler from a strip club and has to justify...

Today, Disney released the final trailer for the upcoming “Mufasa: The Lion King” film. This live-action film is set to be a prequel to “The Lion King.”
This new story tells how Mufasa became the Lion King. Many have had some issues with the trailers indicating that Mufasa was an orphan, when in “The Lion King,” that did not seem to be the case. However, they might explain it in the movie.
Here is the Mufasa: The Lion King” trailer.
The film synopsis reads,
“Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline.

The six-week-out projection for Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King has hit via Quorum tracking service, which sees it at a $59 million-$66 million opening when the Barry Jenkins-directed prequel hits cinemas on December 20.
Keep in mind that the fire-breathing campaigns for Mufasa and Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog 3 haven’t truly begun yet; heck, they’ll be dropping trailers left, right and center during the box office perfect storm that is Wicked, Gladiator II and Moana 2. Also, keep in mind the prediction is for general audiences.
On the Quorum ‘Pay to See’ scale — meaning audiences polled who’ll actually shell out money to get off the couch — Mufasa roars with a 62, a number up there with the Thanksgiving holy trinity of Wicked (64), Gladiator II (63) and Moana 2 (62).

Disney has just dropped the final trailer for Barry Jenkins' Mufasa: The Lion King (via Toonado.com) featuring younger versions of characters like Mufasa, Scar, Sarabi, Rafiki and Zazu before they called Pride Rock home.
Just like 2019's The Lion King, this movie looks visually stunning; the main difference here is that we're getting an original story rather than what many felt was little more than a shot-for-shot remake of the 1994 cartoon from filmmaker Jon Favreau.
Similar to this summer's awesome Transformers One, it looks like we'll meet many familiar characters in their early years and watch as the friendship between Mufasa and Taka (a.k.a. Scar) crumbles and ends with them becoming bitter enemies.

"You expect us to follow this hallucinating baboon?!" Nah she's right. Told in flashbacks, we're introduced to Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost & alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion a lively journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny. This isn't so much The Lion King 2, more of a prequel + sequel combined. After the runaway success of Netflix and Tim Burton’s Addams Family stand-alone series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer renewed it for second season in January 2023. That decision came less than three months after the eight-episode Season 1 premiered, eventually becoming the most-watched original series ever on the streamer ever with more than 252 million views to date, far surpassing Stranger Things‘ Season 4, Dahmer and Season 1 of Bridgerton on the all-time list.
Season 1 ending up scoring 12 Emmy nominations, including for Ortega in Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, becoming just the third Latina to ever be nominated in a leading actress category. The series won four Emmys, though Ortega lost out to Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson on Emmy night.
When will Season 2 be released?
Netflix has slated the second installment of the series for streaming in 2025.

We’ve got our first peek at Wednesday Season 2 that hints at the fun to expect when the dark comedy returns!
One of the biggest hits of 2022, Wednesday was a dream combination: Director Tim Burton taking on The Addams Family. Jenna Ortega played the title role of Wednesday Addams, the budding sociopath who, after a wild “prank” at her school, is sent to Westmoreland Academy, home to various supernatural beings.
As she navigates the school and a love triangle she could care less about, Wednesday starts investigating a series of murders leading to a dark conspiracy. The show was a huge critical hit with Ortega breaking out into stardom with moments like the now iconic dance number. Obviously, a second season was ordered, although it was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes and Ortega’s now busier schedule. Thankfully, it’s coming at last with Netflix offering a sneak peek...

There was a time where the best sci-fi shows on TV weren't on Apple TV+, but on HBO, and a big part of this was due to "Westworld." Based on the 1973 film written and directed by Michael Crichton about a futuristic park filled with robots that eventually malfunction and start murdering the guests, the TV show would constantly throw out new sci-fi concepts, big-brain ideas, and wild plot twists that got fans talking — even if it did go off the rails every so often.
More than anything, "Westworld" was a gorgeous-looking series where the producers had clearly spared no expense (unlike the characters from that other famous Michael Crichton adaptation about a sci-fi theme park), with elaborate sets and exquisite production design. It was not an easy show to love, to quote /Film's own Danielle Ryan, but even in spite of the confusing timeline shenanigans and excess of plot twists,...

With one trailer already out there in the cinematic Pride Lands, Mufasa: The Lion King continues in its quest to justify a prequel movie to both Jon Favreau's 2019 CG effort and the 1994 animated epic original. Having Barry Jenkins as the filmmaker guiding the new film is certainly a solid start, leading to some beautiful new imagery utilizing the impressive, photo-real technology that Favs and his team developed. For Mufasa, the narrative spins back the clock to find the future king in his cub days, and how he came to meet the lion brother to be known as Scar, in the years before they were enemies. Check out the new trailer that dropped at Disney's giant D23 event:
Mufasa tells its story through two branches: one features Rafiki (John Kani) explaining to Kiara (Blue Ivy Carter), the daughter of Simba (Donald Glover) and Nala (Beyoncé) how her grandfather survived his tough childhood.

Actress Jenna Ortega has opened up about the controversies and challenges she faced while filming the hit Netflix series “Wednesday.” Ortega plays the iconic character Wednesday Addams in the show, which became a global success when it was released late last year. In interviews at the time, Ortega had voiced criticism of some creative choices made during production of season one. She said there were times she would change her character’s lines without informing writers because she felt certain plot elements, like a potential love triangle, did not fit Wednesday’s personality.
These remarks sparked some backlash questioning her professionalism. However, Ortega now says she could have communicated her concerns in a more constructive manner. “Looking back, I realize I may have used stronger language than needed to express how I felt,” Ortega acknowledged in a recent interview. She maintains her critiques came from a place of passion for properly portraying her character.

A new minute-long TV spot for Mufasa: The Lion King has aired which confirms a new trailer is coming "tomorrow".
As with 2019's The Lion King, the visuals are nothing short of extraordinary. The difference this time, of course, is that we're getting a new story and not a shot-for-shot remake of the original animated movie. That was a real sticking point for some five years ago.
We also see a few familiar characters scattered through the teaser, including Zazu! Check out the teaser below (via Toonado.com).

Jenna Ortega is reflecting on her infamous 2023 comments about pushing back on initial scripts for hit Netflix series “Wednesday.”
Prior to the Writers Guild of America strike, Ortega told Dax Shepard during his “Armchair Expert” podcast that she had to “put my foot down” and “started changing lines” that she disagreed with on set.
“Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all,” Ortega said at the time.
Of course, backlash ensued, from writers in the industry who, pre-strike, already felt disempowered.
Now, Ortega is telling Vanity Fair the full story behind her statements.
According to the actress, she wanted to be a producer on the show going into its first season. She is now a producer on Season 2 and collaborates again with “Wednesday” director and executive producer Tim Burton on sequel film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

The return of Chicken Run after a 20-year hiatus saw viewers flock to the movie, which was crowned the most-watched streamer title in the UK last year by Ofcom’s Media Nations report.
Aardman’s sequel Dawn of the Nugget starring Bella Ramsey and Thandiwe Newton drew an average audience of 7.5 million within the first 28 days of its release, according to the regulator’s annual report. The movie was met with a warm critical reception, coming more than two decades after the 2000 original.
Chicken Run landed around 1 million more viewers than Pixar’s animated pic Elemental, which was in second place and was Disney+’s only title in the top 10.
Having generated more than £1B ($1.3B) for the first time in the UK last year, Amazon Prime Video’s sole entrant was Clarkson’s Farm, with a most-watched ep of 5.6 million. TV shows were rated via their most-watched episode rather than taking the overall series.
