Brainscan is one of those movies you would stumble on as a ’90s kid watching HBO, Cinemax or whatever other programming you weren’t supposed to be watching after your parents went to bed. The kind that you could tell right away was something darker than society would deem appropriate for someone of your age. The kind you knew would keep you up that night.
All of which made it impossible to turn off, of course.

This might sound silly considering the plot is about a misfit teenager who plays the hottest new horror video game advertised in Fangoria and ends up dealing with an almost cartoonish, mohawked, coulda been a guitar tech for Twisted Sister, Little Monsters type villain who...

Scott Goldberg‘s The Forest Hills will bring together Edward Furlong (Terminator 2), Dee Wallace (The Howling), and Shelley Duvall (The Shining), and Bloody Disgusting has learned that Jamie Marsh (The Forsaken, Killer App, X-Files, Best Laid Plans) has joined the cast as well. Marsh, you may recall, starred alongside Furlong in the 1994 horror movie Brainscan!
Almost 30 years later, Edward Furlong and Jamie Marsh just reunited on the set of The Forest Hills, and Bloody Disgusting has been provided with exclusive on-set interview footage.
“We’re both frankly shocked that Brainscan has held up this well,” Marsh admits. Furlong adds, “It was crazy. It didn’t do well at all… it bombed. And it’s just weird how some movies, they just have legs on ’em.” You can watch the video interview with Furlong and Marsh below.

We've been loving on Djo Munga's Congolese crime thriller Viva Riva! for months and months now and it's finally coming out in limited release this weekend! I had a chance to see it this week and completely agree with James Marsh's glowing review. This action-packed flick set on the mean streets of Kinshasa is far more polished than I expected with a taut storyline and great performances by the leads. And boy is Marshy right - that girl is sexy! Viva Riva! opens in NY, La, and Portland Or this weekend and expands to Seattle next weekend. From there it rolls out to Philly, Sf, Berkely, San Jose, DC and on and on. Check the official page for more info and catch it before...
