"Petticoat Junction" was the unofficial second part of the Paul Henning Hooterville trilogy, a trio of 1960s sitcoms about the clash between city slickers and country bumpkins. In 1962, Henning created "The Beverly Hillbillies," a series about hillbillies who, when they strike oil, move to Beverly Hills. In 1965, he inverted the formula with "Green Acres," a show about millionaires who move to a farm to learn about country living. Sandwiched in between the two was "Petticoat Junction," which debuted on September 24, 1963. "Junction" took place at the Shady Rest Hotel, overseen by the lovable widowed hayseed Kate Bradley (Bea Benederet). She and her uncle Joe (Edgar Buchanan) would run the hotel and oversee the shenanigans of her three daughters Betty Jo, Billie Jo, and Bobbie Jo.

Tim Considine, the actor best known for the role of eldest son Mike on the long-running sitcom “My Three Sons,” died Thursday at his home in Los Angeles, according to a Facebook post from his co-star Stanley Livingston. He was 81.

Born in Los Angeles to a showbiz family –– his father, John Considine Jr. was an Oscar-nominated film producer for “Boys Town,” and his mother was the daughter of theater magnate Alexander Pantages –– Considine got his start as a child actor in the 1950s, playing characters in Disney Television’s “Mickey Mouse Club” serials. His roles included Frank Hardy in a “Hardy Boys” serial and Spin Evans in “The Adventures of Spin and Marty.” In 2000, he returned to make a cameo appearance in a TV movie reboot, “The New Adventures of Spin and Marty.” In 1959, Considine appeared alongside his future television father Fred MacMurray in the Disney film “The Shaggy Dog.

Sheila MacRae, the actress who played Alice Kramden in The Honeymooners TV reboot, died on Friday. She was 93.

MacRae passed away at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, N.J., according to Variety.

From 1966 to 1970, MacRae played Alice – wife to Jackie Gleason’s Ralph Kramden – on The Jackie Gleason Show. MacRae had taken over the role of Alice from Audrey Meadows.

MacRae, who briefly had her own television show, also made TV appearances on I Love Lucy, General Hospital, The Love Boat and Murder, She Wrote. In addition to her acting work, MacRae proved herself to be a talented singer and dancer

In 1941, MacRae married Oklahoma! actor Gordon MacRae, with whom she had four children. Her daughter Meredith MacRae, who starred in Petticoat Junction, predeceased her in 2000 after a battle with brain cancer.

Geoff Edwards, a local Los Angeles TV host and radio personality who gained national exposure as the emcee of such game shows as Jackpot, Starcade and Treasure Hunt, died Wednesday. He was 83. Edwards died of complications related to pneumonia at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, his agent, Fred Westbrook, told The Hollywood Reporter.
