Saying Steven Spielberg is a veteran director would dishonor his legendary career as his imaginative mind has changed cinema as we know it. From creating iconic movies like Jaws and Jurassic Park to Oscar-winning films like Schindler’s List, Spielberg has had quite a filmography to his name.
Hollywood director Steven Spielberg (image credit: Gage Skidmore/Wikimedia Commons)
Throughout his entire career, it has been noted and observed by people around him that Spielberg only does seven takes for a scene. Not furthering the number any higher, Spielberg’s shots are usually done in seven takes. However, one scene from Jurassic Park needed so much perfection that the director had to break his golden rule!

From the minute he came crashing into Sunnydale, it was clear that Spike was a force to be reckoned with. A countless number of demons appear in the seven seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but only a few make a lasting impression. Spike does more than that — he steals the whole show. A lot of the British bad boy's charm can be credited to his whip-smart dialogue, his poetic backstory, and a five-star performance from a shockingly American James Marsters. But one unsung hero gave Spike a first impression so good that he became an instant fan favorite — and he risked his career to do it.
In its first season, "Buffy" established a consistent formula. A new demon pops up every week, but one formidable foe — the Master — acts as the final boss, a looming threat for the whole season that is finally defeated in the finale. Season 2 breaks...

Hello, everyone! We’re back after a brief hiatus to give you a look at the horror and sci-fi headed home this week on home media. As it turns out, the month of August’s releases are starting off on a quiet note, as we have two titles getting the 4K treatment this Tuesday—Dario Argento’s Tenebrae and Flatliners from Joel Schumacher—and then a handful of indie horror arriving on both Blu-ray and DVD: Scream at the Devil, Paranormal Devil, The Farm, and Joker’s Poltergeist.
Flatliners 4K
Some Lines Shouldn’T Be Crossed.
Known for his impressively eclectic filmography and for helping to launch the careers of several young Hollywood stars of the 80s and 90s, Joel Schumacher tackles the existential question that, at one time or another, haunts us all: what awaits us after we die?

This past weekend, Universal Studios Hollywood celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Jurassic Park. Yes, it’s hard to believe, but the iconic Steven Spielberg-directed classic came out 25 years ago!
To celebrate the momentous occasion, Universal Studios Hollywood opened its doors to only the most hard-core fans of the dino-flick, and WeAreMovieGeeks.com was there to soak in all the action.
For three nights, fans were invited to come in costume and celebrate all things Jurassic Park. There were props from the movie on display, including costumes and vehicles, photo ops and other interactive displays, including a virtual reality experience where fans could don Vr goggles and headphones and be transported directly into the “park”, complete with Raptors, a Triceratops and a Pteranodon, as well as an erupting volcano.
One of the most interesting parts of the evening was the panel discussion, hosted by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow.

While the first season of “Veronica Mars” was a pretty much perfect season of television, the following two seasons weren’t quite as consistent. However, there was still plenty to enjoy, including more mysteries, a Paul Rudd guest appearance, cameos by Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon, young Tessa Thompson and Krysten Ritter, and some truly dark twists and turns. You can experience it all now on go90.com, the show’s new streaming home, but for a quick taste of the best episodes from Seasons 2 and 3, check out the curated list below.

It looks as though every plot thread established on iZombie will explode in grand fashion when the two-hour season finale arrives next week. One view of the extended preview, which can be seen at the top of the page, will likely cause fans to countdown the days.
As we can see in the trailer, things aren’t going all too well for Major, who was arrested at the end of last night’s episode. Seeing as how he has reverted back to zombie form, going without adequate brain food could ultimately prove dangerous for both he and his fellow inmates. We all remember how rough it was for Liv when she found herself temporarily incarcerated earlier this season.
It also looks like we need to keep our eyes on those rowdy looking zombies in Max Rager’s secret basement. Will they break free and take a tour of the city?...

Despite Blaine’s protests to the contrary, it was clear early on that he was up to no good, something Liv picked up on instinctively. As a human, Blaine was a drug pusher, and as a zombie, his criminal tendencies were not only still intact, but had seemingly expanded to include extortion and murder. This week’s episode shows the full extent of Blaine’s growing criminal empire, and the lengths he’s going to to get brains, in an enjoyable episode that also fleshes out some of Clive Babineax’s history.
Blaine continues to be a fascinating character, and the insight provided towards his operations this week paint an intriguing picture. While earlier episodes indicated that Blaine saw his zombification as an opportunity to expand his criminal activities,...

iZombie, Season 1, Episode 2, “Brother, Can You Spare a Brain?”
Written by Diane Ruggiero-Wright
Directed by John Kretchmer
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW
The final scene of last week’s series premiere of iZombie showed that Liv wasn’t the only person who was turned into a zombie on the night of the boat party. It also showed Liv with a renewed dedication to living her life, even if she was part of the undead at this point. This week’s episode delves deeper into both aspects, as Liv taking on the traits of a passionate painter leaves her questioning the mark she’s made on the world, while her search for fellow zombie Blaine brings him to her morgue. The result is another enjoyable episode that shows a different way to handle being a zombie, while establishing that Liv’s path won’t be easy.

Hilarie Burton is playing a dominatrix on Tuesday's episode of Forever, but at home? She's more into flannel and boots than leather and lingerie. That's because the One Tree Hill star and her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, live on a farm upstate filled with animals ranging from the typical (cows) to the not-so-typical (alpaca). "I'm normally in Carhartt flannel and covered in paint and sawdust and muck boots, so then I get to come into the city and I've gotta shave my legs and paint my nails," Burton tells EW. "It's a weird duality." On Forever, Burton's character is a...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Unaired Pilot

Season 1, Episodes 1-2, “Welcome to the Hellmouth”/”The Harvest”
Written by Joss Whedon
Directed by Charles Martin Smith/John T. Kretchmer
Aired March 10th, 1997
When it comes to the modern evolution of vampires in popular culture, everything started with a blonde girl arriving in a seemingly boring town, destined to fight the forces of evil while surviving the troubles of high school.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer began as a usurpation of the classic tale of monsters chasing young blonde women – this time, she chased them. The original 1992 film starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry was met with mixed reviews (though it has since gained a cult following) and five years later when its scriptwriter Joss Whedon reviewed and revived Ms. Summers back from the world of the undead, the show’s success was far from certain.
