Gaumont UK Options Tm Logan’s ‘The Mother’
Gaumont UK has picked up rights to Tm Logan’s The Mother and will develop the thriller as a returning drama series. Released earlier this year, The Mother starts from the shadows, as a woman attends her own funeral after serving 10 years in jail for the murder of her husband. With two grieving sons in mourning, it’s evident she will stop at nothing to clear her name and reconnect with her children. Gaumont UK President Alison Jackson said she was “instantly fascinated” by the story, calling it a “tantalising addictive read with a brilliantly complex female protagonist.” Gaumont also has rights to Sixteen Horses, Dog Rose Dirt, and Dressed For War: The Story of Audrey Withers. It was most recently behind Netflix thriller Obsession starring Richard Armitage with Moonage Pictures along with Channel 5 thriller For Her Sins. The UK hub opened five years ago.

ITV has commissioned West Road Pictures to produce “Ridley,” a new detective drama starring “Line of Duty” and “Blood” star Adrian Dunbar. The series is created and written by “Vera” lead writer Paul Matthew Thompson and West Road Pictures managing director Jonathan Fisher. They will executive produce the series.
“I couldn’t be happier to be getting started on ‘Ridley,’ as we continue to build the West Road production slate with our second commission for ITV,” said Fisher of the announcement. “ITV has a fine tradition of nurturing much-loved detective series, and it’s a real privilege to be bringing ‘Ridley’ to the channel.”
“Ridley” follows a detective inspector pushed into retirement from the force after 25 years investigating homicides. Convinced he is still in his prime, Ridley welcomes an invitation from his replacement and former protégé Carol Farman to aid her on a particularly complex case, eventually leading to more consulting jobs.

Exclusive: Gaumont, the French production company behind Netflix shows Narcos and F Is For Family, is in the early stages of adapting Gaston Leroux’s iconic novel The Phantom Of The Opera into a six-part TV miniseries.
The project is being led out of Gaumont’s UK unit, which is working with writer Anthony Horowitz to reimagine Leroux’s gothic story about a disfigured composer, who lives in the depths of the Paris Opera House and falls for singer Christine Daae with tragic consequences.
Deadline understands that the 1910 novel, rather than Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash-hit musical, will form the backbone of Horowitz’s adaptation, in much the same way that Andrew Davies relied on Victor Hugo’s book to bring Les Misérables to the screen for the BBC and PBS in 2018.

In less than a week's time, Kate Middleton will experience her first Mothering Sunday as a mum herself! (Don't panic, Yanks—Mother's Day in the States isn't until May 11 this year.) Prince George and Prince William will surely be celebrating the U.K.-version of the holiday with the duchess. Sadly, though, we won't be privy to the details of this as Kate will be spending Mother's Day privately, Kensington Palace tells E! News. Fortunately for us, online lifestyle retailer Notonthehighstreet.com commissioned Alison Jackson to create a vision of how the Cambridge fam might celebrate the holiday. One particularly clever photo she created shows a Kate look-alike, still in her PJs, playing on...

Prince William and Kate Middleton's doppelgängers are at it again, posing for a fake photo shoot dressed as the royal couple in a shot which, at first glance, seemingly appears to provide a sneak peek of the royal family's upcoming holiday celebration. But take a closer look and you'll see it's not the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the image photographed by spoof photographer Alison Jackson, but is instead the royal look-alikes, who have posed as Will & Kate on a number of previous occasions. No, the royal baby hasn't really arrived yet, but our favorite look-a-likes have already had their baby's first photoshoot - and the results are hilariously fantastic! As the world awaits real news from St. Mary's hospital in London where the Duchess of Cambridge is in labor with William by her side, these photos imagine what life will be like for them in the coming days and weeks. From a wiped out Queen Elizabeth, covered in toys (do you spot the baby?), to an exasperated Prince William getting feeding time help from a palace guard, everyone has their royal hands full with the faux new arrival.

Well, this is one way to get excited for the royal baby. The Prince William and Kate Middleton look-alikes are back and ready to welcome the bundle of joy, posing for a series of photos in which the fake mama-to-be prepares for the little one's arrival while the whole world waits for the real Kate to give birth. Photographed by the famous Alison Jackson, the pics give us a peek as to what the soon-to-parents might be doing before Kate goes into labor (which, at this point, could be any moment). The first shot shows a very pregnant Kate (we swear the fake Kate's bump is bigger) decorating her nursery with Prince William and Queen Elizabeth II. Looking lovely in a classy blue dress...

If you think you're seeing double, well, you are. Actually make that several doubles. Yep. Before you get too excited thinking that you've stumbled upon a snapshot of Kate Middleton's baby shower, we should tell you that this is nothing more than a group of lookalikes. Photographed by Alison Jackson, the image features doppelgängers of not only the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, but her sister Pippa Middleton, Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well. Although we're hoping that cupcake in the hand of the faux Her Majesty is the real deal. Because it looks delicious!

Ah, babies. They bring everyone together - even the royal family! Well, sort of. In the latest scenario imagined by photographer Alison Jackson, who specializes in spoof photos of the royal family, everyone from Pippa Middleton to Camilla to The Queen gather together to fête Duchess Catherine. The faux mom-to-be unwraps onesies that say "Born to Rule" while her royal family - and one of the Queen's beloved corgis! - look on. Jackson previously arranged a shoot with Catherine and Prince William's lookalikes for a Christmas-themed photo shoot. And we're not quite sure, but that we're hoping that might actually be Camilla!

Alison Jackson has 'imagined' Britain's Duchess Catherine's baby shower using lookalikes. The acclaimed photographer used doppelgangers for the duchess - who is due to give birth to her first child in July - her mother Carole Middleton, party planner sister Pippa Middleton, her husband Prince William's stepmother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Queen Elizabeth and had them pose in a series of images that echo what a royal baby shower could look like. The pictures show the guests tucking into cupcakes and alcohol-free Shloer, while admiring gifts including a toddler race car, a teddy in a blue jumper, and a white baby-grow with 'born to rule' on. Though originally an American trend, baby showers have increased in popularity in the...

This is an odd one. And at the same time possibly brilliant. One one hand, you have to digest the fact that Pippa Middleton—you know the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton’s upstaging sister—has a web show dedicated to recreating her globally admired bum. Then, on the other hand, you have to be comfortable with the knowledge that there’s someone out there crazy enough to hire a lookalike model to shoot a web series doing just that. The originator here is a photographer named Alison Jackson, whose YouTube channel TheRealAJackson is releasing these thumbnail-friendly low-fi exercise videos. Some have called Jackson a “stunt artist,” whose 1999 staged photo caught attention portraying the late Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed with a mixed-race love child. “I held auditions for a Pippa Middleton face and a separate Pippa bottom,” Jackson told The Daily Mail. “It took several casting sessions to find the ideal bottom double,...

Judicious use of lookalikes and a clever Facebook app make Grey Group's online anti-piracy campaign pretty damn smart. Conceived in the agency's Hong Kong office, in conjunction with Chinese music magazine re:spect, the Let the Music Live On Campaign takes the original music piracy slogan--Home Taping is Killing Music--literally, by assassinating the artists.
The app promises you free downloads of a variety of artists, from Madonna, White Stripes, and Amy Winehouse, to Blur, Gorillaz, and Kraftwerk. Click on them, and your cursor turns into a gunsight. Click again, and bang goes the pop diva, via a selection of gory methods.
Although the lookalikes aren't, say, up to the caliber of those of artist Alison Jackson, who cares? Meg and Jack are peppered with grenades, the four Blur boys are picked off by a sniper, and Kraftwerk are reduced to nothing more than a pile of hardware rubble.
