Becky Hartman Edwards spent her childhood moving every year or so, bouncing from New York to San Diego, Cambridge to Berkeley, then Tel Aviv and Newton, MA. As the perpetual new kid, her two constant companions were books and television, so becoming a television writer was probably inevitable.
She broke in on "In Living Color," and worked on shows including "Living Single", "The Larry Sanders Show", "Sex and the City", "American Dreams", "Invasion", "Life on Mars", "Parenthood", "Switched at Birth", "The Bold Type," "Pitch," "Firefly Lane," "My Life With the Walter Boys," and "Virgin River."
Hartman Edwards has been nominated for three Emmy Awards and one Writers Guild Award. She has also won a Television Critics Award and Peabody Award for her work on the TV series "Switched at Birth".
