Heinz Behrens was born on 30 September 1932 in Grünberg, Silesia, Germany [now Zielona Góra, Lubuskie, Poland]. He was an actor, known for Maxe Baumann (1976), Das unsichtbare Visier (1973) and Androklus und der Löwe (1969). He was married to Birgit Otto and Käthe Sennwald-Behrens. He died on 9 August 2022 in Berlin, Germany.

Studied acting in Halle and first appeared on theatre stages in Rostock, Erfurt and Dessau.

From 2002 to 2010, Behrens was a member of the Musikalische Komödie Berlin.

In 1961, he became part of the acting ensemble of the GDR television station DFF (Deutscher Fernsehenfunk).
