J Balvin will make his big screen debut as an Interpol investigator digging into a drug smuggling operation in the upcoming film, Little Lorraine, according to Variety.
The film appears to be loosely based on real events in the Eighties, and will chronicle how a far-flung fishing and mining village in Nova Scotia became a hub for cocaine smuggling. Balvin’s Interpol investigator is drawn up north while investigating a Colombian drug ring suspected of moving product through the area.
Along with Balvin, the film will star Sean Astin and Stephen Amell.

For the first time in her high school career, 17-year-old valedictorian Veronica (Haley Lu Richardson) has flunked a test. That blue positive sign means she’s pregnant, and now she wants a redo — to become “Unpregnant,” in the words of director Rachel Lee Goldenberg (“Valley Girl”), who has a flair for the flip understatement. Goldenberg’s road-trip comedy, based on the novel by Jenni Hendriks and Ted Caplan, has no time for hemming and hawing. To obtain an abortion without her conservative parents’ permission, the popular blonde must make a 2,000-mile drive from Missouri to New Mexico in 48 hours, which, with Type-a aplomb, she calculates is doable if she stops only for bathroom breaks and, like, the actual procedure.
But Veronica’s plan for a speedy, super-secret abortion has one flaw: The only person able to chauffeur is her former best friend Bailey (Barbie Ferreira), a punkish screw-up who hasn...

The world really has changed. Just eight months after Eliza Hittman’s searing “Never Rarely Sometimes Always” made its debut at Sundance, becoming one of the year’s best films in the process, fledgling streamer HBO Max has already unveiled its own much more comedic take on the apparently booming “abortion road trip” subgenre. But while Rachel Lee Goldenberg’s comedy might sound like a lighter spin on Hittman’s earthy drama,
Veronica (the always delightful Haley Lu Richardson) is a high school superstar, bound for Brown in the fall but still very busy living out the waning days of her super-fun senior year. Mega-popular and mega-smart, Veronica has a tight-knit pack of girlfriends (that the other members of the foursome seem to operate with one brain is more than just a joke) and a devoted boyfriend (Alex MacNicoll). "It's my life, it's my choice." HBO Max has released a trailer for their next big comedy movie (following An American Pickle) debuting on the new streaming service - starting in early September. It was inevitable that one day someone would make an abortion comedy, and here we go, it's already ready for release. Haley Lu Richardson stars as a 17-year-old high-school student named Veronica who finds out she's pregnant and reaches out to her ex-best friend Bailey for help. They decide to embark on a road trip for 14 hours to New Mexico to a clinic that can help her. Barbie Ferreira co-stars as Bailey, and the cast includes Sugar Lyn Beard, Breckin Meyer, Ramona Young, Alex MacNicoll, and Jeryl Prescott. This kind of seems like Booksmart mashed up with Never Rarely Sometimes Always, which is a bit unexpected, but may just work. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Rachel Lee Goldenberg's Unpregnant,...

Haley Lu Richardson in ‘Unpregnant’ Trailer Gives a Buddy Comedy Spin on Teen Abortion Drama (Video)
Though there’s already a very serious looking drama about teen abortion called “Never Rarely Sometimes Always” that opened this year, the first trailer for the new film “Unpregnant” starring Haley Lu Richardson gives a road trip, buddy comedy spin on the same story.
Richardson stars alongside Barbie Ferreira in a comedy coming to HBO Max in which Richardson plays a straight-a student and popular kids who enlists her more rebellious, former best friend (Ferreira) to get an abortion over 1,000 miles in New Mexico. Of course in this story, they end up on the run from the cops, in a stolen Trans-Am and even trying to jump aboard a moving train on their trip to get the procedure done.
“There’s an Albuquerque in Missouri? The law won’t let me get one without my parents knowing,” Richardson says in the trailer. “It’s my life, it’s my choice.

HBO Max is continuing to round out its original film programming, adding a fresh new comedy from “Valley Girl” remake filmmaker Rachel Lee Goldenberg and rising stars Haley Lu Richardson and Barbie Ferreira to its upcoming slate. “Unpregnant” puts a humorous spin on a tough, timely topic, but promises to do it with a generous dash of humor. The film’s first trailer offers a funny first look at a fresh take on the young adult novel of the same name, written by authors Jenni Hendriks (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Ted Caplan (music editor for “The Hate U Give” and “The Greatest Showman”).
The film follows Richardson’s Veronica, a Missouri teen who is shocked to discover she is pregnant, and who sets off on a road trip with her former best pal Bailey (Ferreira) in hopes of securing an abortion so that she can continue to pursue her Ivy League college dreams.

Emma Stone’s favorite place for sushi in Los Angeles is a no-frills spot in a Sunset Boulevard strip mall, tucked alongside a laser hair-removal clinic and a FedEx store. It’s here, having barely taken a seat, that she starts telling me about her hiatal hernia. “I can’t have spicy foods,” Stone says. The issue, it turns out, is that part of her stomach protrudes “into my esophagus,” which sounds gnarly but is actually pretty manageable, increased chances of acid reflux notwithstanding. “I was born with it,” Stone notes cheerfully.

Derek Waters has spent over a decade making drunk history. “It was just like, how do we six seasons and not let it get old? I want it to evolve,” he said.
Originally created as a Funny or Die web series in 2007, “Drunk History” has thrived on Comedy Central, educating the masses through reenactments of obscure and not-so-obscure history, as narrated by intoxicated storytellers.
While the fame quotient of the drunkards tends to be impressive, it’s the folks doing the reenactments who make this Comedy Central’s most star-studded series: Season 6 includes Evan Rachel Wood, Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Jack McBrayer, Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Bilson, Amandla Stenberg, Alison Brie, Sugar Lyn Beard, and Josh Hartnett.

"Oh no... I think I cut myself!" Netflix has released another official trailer for their comedy The Package, which is now available, the latest film from Funny or Die filmmaker Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates). The wacky, stupid comedy is about a group of teenage friends who go on a spring break camping trip, but an accident causes them to change their plans in hopes of saving their friend. Yeah, it's dumb and made for teenagers to get drunk and laugh at. The full cast for this includes Daniel Doheny, Geraldine Viswanathan, Sadie Calvano, Luke Spencer Roberts, Eduardo Franco, Michael Eklund, Gary Jones, Alexander Calvert, Sugar Lyn Beard, and Blake Anderson. After being forced into hibernation for a few weeks thanks to the 2018 Winter Olympics, The Flash is finally ready to get back to business. And with Barry Allen now finally out of the clink, we hope the show can recapture some of the old magic – or lightning in a bottle, if we’re to be more on the nose.
So, as DeVoe continues to body-hop – this time in the skin of Hazard – Team Flash make a mad dash to locate the rest of the bus metas, as laid out in a new featurette that you can view at the top. Taking us on the guided tour is none other than executive producer Todd Helbing, who gives us a decent idea of what to expect from “Subject 9.”
Speaking of which, one can’t help but assume that “Subject 9” is that of the Fiddler, who’s out to prove that guest characters can get lamer.

With the 14th episode airing in a couple of weeks, The Flash season 4 is heating up now, as the game of wits between Barry Allen, his friends and the Thinker intensifies. In case you need to remind yourself of just how much fun the past few months have been, though, The CW’s got you covered with the new promo up above.
The trailer features clips taken from what we’ve already seen so far, showing off the highs and lows of recent times in Central City. Let’s not forget that Barry began this year by emerging from the Speed Force reborn, coming back with a new attitude and increased powers. Later on, he got married to the love of his life, Iris West, before enduring a spell in prison – until his friends pulled together to get him out.
Speaking of which, the promo also highlights several other super-powered members of Team Flash.

Barry Allen is now back out of prison, but that doesn’t mean his troubles are over. In the next episode of The Flash, titled “Subject 9,” the Thinker will continue his/her masterplan as Team Flash comes up against a new metahuman.

Although we could probably keep going back and forth when it comes to what the last few episodes of The Flash had to offer, I hope that we can all agree it’s for the better that Barry Allen has finally been exonerated and is out of prison. To borrow from the title of the Scarlet Speedster’s inaugural story arc in the New 52, we can now “move forward.”
Of course, we’re going to have to wait to see whatever lies ahead, as the network has placed this and several other of its shows on a brief hiatus for the next few weeks. As such, we had not much to go on last week other than a new promo video.
Fortunately, there’s now this synopsis for the returning episode, “Subject 9”:

After witnessing The Flash recapture some of its old magic around the midseason mark, I felt less than enthused to see Barry Allen remain behind bars for several weeks. Really, I couldn’t have been the only one who felt much of the show’s excitement had been lost by having the titular character moping in the clink, right? Not only that, but this season’s big bad, Clifford DeVoe, decided to take a small vacation.
Fortunately for those who were growing bored, Team Flash found a clever way to get Barry exonerated and, in a move that may prove to be divisive, DeVoe once again indulged in his new hobby of body-hopping, this time taking over the mind of Hazard. I’m guessing none of us knew how big of a role Sugar Lyn Beard would play when she was cast last fall, but my better judgment says this...

As chronicled by The Thinker’s opening voiceover, Rebecca/Becky Sharpe (played by my new crush Sugar Lyn Beard) was a casino dealer who throughout life suffered myriad indignities — having a MySpace page in the year 2017 apparently among them. As chronicled by The Thinker’s opening voiceover, Rebecca/Becky Sharpe (played by my new crush Sugar Lyn Beard) was a casino dealer who throughout life suffered myriad indignities — having a MySpace page in the year 2017 apparently among them. Her status as a self-described jinx was changed one day, however, when fresh from being canned she hot-footed it in fishnets to catch a life-changing bus ride.

To date, The Flash has utilized no shortage of villains culled from the comic books, which is quite understandable when you take the Scarlet Speedster’s impressive rogues gallery into account. While we’ve seen more well known knaves such as Captain Cold, Mirror Master and the Reverse-Flash give the S.T.A.R. Labs crew headaches, there have also been more obscure baddies featured like Girder and Magenta. And, as you could probably gather, the latest addition to the enduring television saga falls in with the latter.
In tonight’s ironically titled episode, “Luck Be A Lady,” Sugar Lyn Beard debuts as Becky Sharpe Aka Hazard, a woman possessing one of the most bizarre power sets we’ve seen thus far. In a nutshell, she’s been experiencing much good fortune on her end, but it comes at the expense of giving other residents of Central City serious rounds of bad luck.

NBC has put in development a comedy from Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Sugar Lyn Beard (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) and Sony Pictures TV, with Beard attached to star. Co-written by Beard and Guy Endore-Kaiser (Comedy Central Roast of James Franco), the untitled half-hour centers on Dr. Olivia Boudreau (Beard), a 35-year-old hard-charging Doogie Howser-style prodigy. When she has a complete breakdown in the operating room and loses her medical license, she is forced to…...

Nick (Jon Bass) would like to think he’s “endearing weird,” but the world seems to perceive him as “weird weird.” That’s tough enough, but when the feisty Dani (Juno Temple) is thrown into the mix, Nick’s non-endearing weirdness is pushed to some crazy ends.
In Ben Smith and Megan McDonnell’s “Meet Cute” (written by Smith and produced by Josh Thurston), what’s meant to be a low-key study date between the two adorably mismatched stars shifts and changes over the course of an afternoon, initially weird, then charming, then right back to weird weird. (Short version: Hey, it’s really easy to be confused for a serial killer.)

According to VancouverFilm.Net, Season 4 of "The Flash" will showcase the live-action debut of DC Comic's metahuman 'Rebecca Sharpe' aka 'Hazard', played by actress Sugar Lyn Beard:
"...'Rebecca Sharpe' perpetually down-on her luck, is convinced her life is cursed...
"...until a freak accident changes everything.
"With the universe on her side, she poses a threat to both 'Team Flash' and 'Central City'."
Created by Roy Thomas, debuting in DC Comics' "Infinity Inc." #34, Hazard has 'psionic' powers she uses in conjunction with special dice to influence probability.
She can cause good luck or harmful 'accidents' to befall someone. The origin of her powers, nature of her dice, and the relationship between them are unknown. In addition, she keeps herself in good physical condition.
Other DC characters appearing in "the Flash" Season 4 include 'The Elongated Man' (Hartley Sawyer), 'The Thinker' (Neil Sandilands), 'The Mechanic' (Kim Engelbrecht) and 'Breacher' (Danny Trejo).

The Room – a genre-jumping fluke that God himself couldn’t predict – may relinquish its midnight-movie throne once The Disaster Artist dumbfounds unprepared audiences. James Franco chronicles Tommy Wiseau’s indescribable rise in this hilarious tell-all, adapted from Greg Sestero’s bestselling biography of the same name. Bottomless bank accounts, limp-wristed football tosses, an accent without definition – The Disaster Artist tells a story too ridiculous for sanity. But that’s probably why you’ll lose your mind from laughing so damn hard.
The Disaster Artist begins with a talking head segment that praises The Room (Kevin Smith/J.J. Abrams, Adam Scott), anointing its decade-defying relevance as nothing short of deserved. We then meet Tommy Wiseau (James Franco) in a San Francisco acting class, alongside fellow student Greg Sestero (Dave Franco). They strike an immediate friendship, feeding off one another’s energy. Sestero envies Wiseau and his free-spirited abandon, while Wiseau just wants a friend.

On Sunday night, Emma Stone won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for her work in the dazzling movie-musical La La Land. La La Land allowed her to flex muscles – literal and figurative – that she hadn't before.

Emma Stone's favorite place for sushi in Los Angeles is a no-frills spot in a Sunset Boulevard strip mall, tucked alongside a laser hair-removal clinic and a FedEx store. It's here, having barely taken a seat, that she starts telling me about her hiatal hernia. "I can't have spicy foods," Stone says. The issue, it turns out, is that part of her stomach protrudes "into my esophagus," which sounds gnarly but is actually pretty manageable, increased chances of acid reflux notwithstanding. "I was born with it," Stone notes cheerfully.

Audiences are, by now, used to the R-rated gross-out comedies that feature man-child characters getting into ridiculous, often moronic, situations. It’s a genre that was once box office gold, blending shocking and outrageous scenes with surprisingly sweet sentiment. However Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates takes the concept one step further, fighting for male/female equality through cinema, with not only male characters acting stupid and outrageous, but also the ladies of the cast. Yes, this is an “equal opportunites idiot” movie!
The film follows the titular Mike and Dave, two fun-loving (and, honestly, idiotic) brothers who tend to get out of control at family gatherings.

A sweetly silly trounce of the idea that overgrown frat boys are charming. Shakes up the subgenre in a way remarkably, if perhaps accidentally, feminist. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing

Never mind the trailers - not even the title of Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates is representative of the movie to which it has been assigned. A better title would have been Wedding Crashers, which could be why the 2005 movie of the same name comes in for so much flak for its ridiculousness during one of the big scenes. Either way, you're not prepared for how Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza play for top billing from the very first moment they appear.
To be clear: Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) most definitely need wedding dates. Tired of their thoughtless partying ruining family get-togethers, the two brothers' long-suffering parents (Stephen Root and Stephanie Faracy) decree that they must find themselves a pair of nice girls to bring to their sister's wedding in Hawaii.

Anna Kendrick's butt double wasn't the only Nsfw decoy used in this summer's raunchy comedy Mike and Dave Need Weddings Dates. Her co-star Sugar Lyn Beard went full frontal with an assist from what she calls a "vagina wig." Beard sported a very bushy merkin for her nether regions. "I just wanted like a fury thick bush that would make women proud," she told E! News at the comedy's Hollywood premiere last month. With that in mind, we're taking a look at how Hollywood makes merkins, fake penises and more adult-only comedy props. If this is the comedy Hollywood thinks millennials want, we’re screwed.
Mike and Dave Stangle are two hard-partying brothers whose frat boy antics always end up ruining the party. The boys have messed up enough family gatherings that their parents demand that they bring respectable “nice girls” as dates to their sister’s wedding in Hawaii so they don’t hit on other girls or do anything that could potentially destroy the big day.
The premise is very loosely based on the true story of the real-life Mike and Dave Stangle whose viral Craigslist ad for wedding dates led to a book and movie deal. (It doesn’t hurt to have a CAA trainee as a friend.) Hollywood felt there was enough fodder in their story for a movie, but it wears thin quick. What starts off as an adventure about two bros on a quest for dates turns into a battle of shenanigans between bros...

Inspired by “true” events, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is a screwball comedy with the potential to edge towards a smarter farce. More favorable than a certain Adam Sandler Hawaiian vacation comedy, if at times no less offensive, the film delivers a few big laughs even if a few notes fall flat along the way. Operating at full throttle, web short and TV vet Jake Szymanski lets the inmates run the asylum while allowing Aubrey Plaza to break out of her shell; here she’s shed that awkwardness thanks to weed and booze.
The plot is as direct as can be. Dave (Zac Efron) and Mike Stangle (Adam DeVine) have ruined many a family affair with well-intentioned but disruptive antics and are given an ultimatum: their mom (Stephanie Faracy) and dad (Stephen Root) tell them to find nice, respectable girls to bring to their sister Jeanie’s (Sugar Lyn Beard) wedding or stay home.

Chicago – In these difficult times, we flat out need a belly laugh. The timing of “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” couldn’t be better, because this group of comic actors and this movie provides a respite of hilarious joy. By simply exploiting the truth of the based-on-a-real-story premise, “Mike and Dave” is the type of farce that anybody can relate to, and laugh at gratefully.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
The genius is in the likeliness of the scenario. Like “Bridesmaids” before it, everyone can relate to the fake wedding piety, that is an absolute recipe for disaster in the right (or wrong) circumstance. The boys in the story who need dates are familiar, the gruff-but-benign Dad is everybody’s Dad at some point in life and the two party girls looking for a free vacation are all of us. Everything becomes a recognizable tipping point that is taken to a comic extreme.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and I’m RSVP’ing as a +1. Someone please pass the champagne and a hanky, because this is the wedding party of the year. Though there’s been no lack of wedding-themed comedies as of late (or ever), it’s high time another raucous matrimonial flick graced the summertime big screen. Stunning new concept? No. Totally absurd and uproarious? Absolutely. Look, if you’re looking for a classy cinematic masterpiece, by all means, do not go see this movie. But if you could use a good laugh or 100, and aren’t offended by vulgarity, then leave right now and buy a ticket.

Summer’s in full swing with big family gatherings and social events. It’s the perfect time for some raunchy laughs at the multiplex. Eleven years ago (no, really!) R-rated movie comedies made a big, big comeback when Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were Wedding Crashers. Four years later, the lead up to nuptials ignited a comic trilogy with The Hangover. Then the ladies got in on the act just two years later with Bridesmaids. This weekend’s new flick doles out a bit from all those entrees in the funny flick buffet, expanding on a comedy staple (or main course in the food analogy), namely the comic team. This doesn’t quite harken back to Stan and Ollie or Bud and Lou, rather the inspiration may be a bit over twenty years ago to Harry and Lloyd, those Dumb & Dumber dudes, continuing through Harold and Kumar, on to various unions of Rogen,...

If it’s true that every generation gets the “Wedding Crashers” it deserves, then millennials have finally gotten some definitive proof that they’re doing alright. Starting with a timeless premise — young people are stupid — and spinning it into a broad, crass, and relentlessly amusing mid-summer surprise, “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” may not be the first Apatow-era comedy about twentysomethings coming to grips with the fact that they won’t live forever (and it’s certainly not the deepest, as it lingers in your memory for about as long as a Snapchat), but it might just be one of the funniest.
