- Dapper German character actor, on stage in Munich from 1924. Prolific on screen, both before and after World War II, often cast as officers, policemen or middle-ranking civil servants.
- The actor Franz Arzdorf took regularly part in movies from the 30's.
- His engagement was normally limited to support roles, yet he appeared in a multitude of well-known movies.
- After 1945 he worked for DEFA ( state-owned film studio of the German Democratic Republic) and especially in DFF (East German Television) productions until the construction of the Berlin Wall prevented him from working for GDR television.
- His activity for the film dropped off after the war.
