Elfie von Kalckreuth was born on 22 May 1937 in Breslau, Silesia, Germany. She is an actress and producer, known for Face of the Frog (1959), Kein Mann zum Heiraten (1959) and Endstation Rote Laterne (1960).

Daughter of a naval officer (frigate captain) and graduate farmer, she was descended from Silesian aristocracy.

Studied philosophy and art history for six semesters at universities in Munich and Tübingen.

After working in radio, she became a TV announcer and editor for the ZDF network in 1965.

Qualified as an existential analysis and logotherapy specialist from 1998.
