Boris Paval Conen won in 1993 the Tuschinski Award for his graduation film 'Horror Vacui'. In subsequent years, he directed several productions including the controversial feature 'Temmink, the ultimate fight' and the Golden Calf winning television series "The 9 days of the vulture'. His short film "Dilemma" and the dance film 'Car Men' (he made with celebrated choreographer Jiri Kylian) have won numerous international awards including the Prix d Italia. In 2012, the seven-part television series "The secrets of Barslet' got nominated for three golden calves and in 2013 the telefilm 'Exit' won the Golden Calf for best TV drama. Boris wrote and directed this film based on a true story of an deportation of asylum seekers that went out of control. Since 'Exit' Boris wrote and directed two short films for the series of 'Devilish Dilemma's' and two telefilms including the 2016 'Camp Holland'. This telefilm is about young Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan and the dilemmas they face in the war zone.
