The original version of the popular and long-running quiz show, hosted by Red Benson Contestants competed to see who had the more comprehensive knowledge of popular songs by trying to be the first to identify pieces of music. Additional challenges included contestants bidding to see who could "name that tune" in as few notes as possible.

Nightmoves was an Australian weekly late-night popular music series, hosted by Melbourne rock DJ Lee Simon. The program featured music videos from around the world, studio and location interviews with local and touring acts, and film reviews by noted Melbourne critic Ivan Hutchison. In later years the series presented a number of hour-long in-concert specials featuring leading Australasian acts such as Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons, and Split.Enz, and a number of these were recorded in stereo and simulcast in FM stereo on local rock stations in each capital ciry. The original series theme was Bob Seger's eponymous song, but this was later replaced by an excerpt from Steely Dan's "Parker's Band". The series was produced and broadcast from the studios of Channel 7 in Melbourne, and was shown on most Seven Network stations. Sadly, although the series.chronicled one of the most vibrant periods in Australian rock, much of the series was broadcast live, and few if any master tapes have survived. A DVD compilation of the series was issued in the 2000s, but this was largely sourced from surviving domestic off-air VHS recordings of the show.

Didier Travolta (Franck Dubosc) is a 40-year-old disco music fan who has no job, lives with his mother, and has a son he hasn't seen for a while in Britain. The mother of his son refuses to send him their son for the holidays unless he can offer him a real vacation, not just going to bars of the French port city of Le Havre. As the jobless Didier has no money, the only way he can see his son is by winning a dance contest organized by his friend Jackson (Gérard Depardieu), with the prize a vacation to Australia for two. Didier persuades his two former dancing buddies (Samuel Le Bihan and Abbes Zahmani) to get the once-famous "Bee Kings" group back on the dancefloor. Years have passed and they need a dance coach (Emmanuelle Béart) to get them ready for the competition. They soon find out that even if they once were the best, times have changed. Jobs, wives, love, ridiculous looks, old-fashioned clothes, talented contestants... Can they reclaim their past disco glory?

Rage is an all-night music show in Australia. It screens nationally on ABC TV. Rage was first screened in April 1987. On Fridays rage plays new releases followed by the national Top 50. On Saturdays rage features Specials and guest programmers. Saturday nights 'Specials' can feature one particular band or artist, so viewers can see a number of videos by their favourite artists all in the one night. Rage has no presenter except on Saturdays shows when rage has musicians as guest VJ's. Rage won "Best National Music Video Programme" in the 1991 Australian Music Industry Awards. It repeatedly wins "Most Popular Australian Music TV show" in the Australian Music Awards. In 1998, rage released a double cd compilation and in November 1999 a second double cd compilation was put together. Rage often plays old episodes of Bandstand and Countdown hosted by Molly Meldrum.
