Invite people to your Facebook event
If you're a host of an event, you can invite your friends to the event. As an event host, you can choose different privacy settings for who can see, join or invite guests to your event.
You can also invite people who are off of Facebook or don’t have a Facebook account. You can send them an invitation through email or text message (SMS).
Invite people to a private or public event
To invite people who don't have a Facebook account, log in to Facebook on a computer or Android or iOS app.

  1. Click Events on the left side of your homepage. You may have to click See More.
  2. Go to the event.
  3. Click Invite below the cover photo. You can search for people by name, email address or phone number.
  4. Click your friends' names to invite them individually. You can also filter by groups, locations and past events in the left menu.
  5. Click Send Invites.
Invite people who don’t have a Facebook account
This feature is not available for all events right now.
  1. Click Events on the left side of your homepage. You may have to click See More first.
  2. Select the event you want to invite people to.
  3. Click Invite below the cover photo.
  4. Select Invite with email or Invite with SMS.
  5. Enter the email or phone number of the person you want to invite.
    • To invite multiple people at one time, enter emails or phone numbers separated by a comma, space or new line, then click Add.
  6. Click Send Invites.
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events, then tap calendar to see your events.
  3. Select your event.
  4. To invite people to:
    • Private events: Tap Invite, then search for and select the names of friends you want to invite. Tap Invite next to the person you want to invite.
    • Public events: Tap Share, then select any of the sharing options and complete sharing flow.
Invite people who don’t have a Facebook account
This feature is not available for all events right now.
  1. Tap menu, then tap Events.
  2. Tap calendar to see your events, then select the event you want to invite people to.
  3. Tap Invite, then tap Text or email at the top.
  4. Enter the email or phone number of the person you want to invite, then tap Invite..
  5. Tap Done.
Invite people to your private event
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events.
  3. Tap Your Events and go to the event.
  4. Tap Invite and then search for and select the names of friends you want to invite.
  5. Tap Next.
Invite people to a public event
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events.
  3. Go to the event.
  4. Tap Share, then tap Invite next to the names of friends you want to invite.
  1. Tap Menu in the bottom right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events, then tap calendar to see your events.
  3. Select the event you want to invite people to.
  4. Tap Share for public events, or tap Invite for private events.
  5. Use the search bar at the top to find friends or tap the box next to the people you want to invite from the Suggested list.
  6. Tap Invite for private or tap Send for public after writing the message for the invitation.
Invite people off of Facebook or who don’t have an account
This feature is not available for all events right now.
  1. Tap menu, then tap Events.
  2. Tap calendar to see your events, then select the event you want to invite people to.
  3. Tap Invite, then tap Text or email at the top.
  4. Enter the email or phone number of the person you want to invite, then tap Invite.
  5. Tap Done.

  2. Tap calendar to see your events, then select the event you want to invite people to.
  3. Tap Invite, then tap Text or email at the top.
  4. Enter the email or phone number of the person you want to invite, then tap Add to invite list.
  5. Tap Done.
Invite people to a public event
  1. Tap Menu at the top of your homepage, then tap Events.
  2. Go to the event, and tap Invite.
  3. Select Invite Friend below the names of friends you want to invite.
  4. Tap Send.
Invite people to a private event
  1. Tap Menu at the top of your homepage, then tap Events.
  2. Tap View Event below your event.
  3. Tap Invite.
  4. Select Invite Friend below the names of friends you want to invite.
  5. Tap Send.
Invite people to your private event
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events, then select your event.
  3. Tap Invite and then search for and select the names of friends you want to invite.
  4. Tap Next.
Invite people to a public event
  1. Tap menu in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Tap Events, then select your event.
  3. Tap Share, then tap Invite next to a friend's name in the suggested list.
