Find and add friends on Facebook
Find and add a friend on a computer:
  1. Click the search bar in the top left of any Facebook page.
  2. Type your friend's name into the search bar and click
  3. To send someone a friend request, click next to their profile picture. Some people might not have next to their profile picture, depending on their privacy settings.

  1. Tap in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Enter your friend's name.
  3. Select their name. If you still can't find your friend, try these steps.
  4. Tap below their name to add them as a friend. You might not see this button on some people's profiles, depending on their privacy settings.

  1. Tap in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Enter your friend's name and tap Search.
  3. Tap People at the top.
  4. You can tap to filter by City, Education, Work and Friends of friends. If you still can't find your friend, try these steps.
  5. To send someone a friend request, tap next to their name. You might not see next to some people, depending on their privacy settings.
Find and add a friend on Facebook Lite app:
  1. Tap in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Enter your friend's name.
  3. Select their name. If you still can't find your friend, try these steps.
  4. Tap below their name to add them as a friend. You might not see this button on some people's profiles, depending on their privacy settings.
Note: You can have up to 1,000 sent requests waiting for a response. If you send more, the oldest request will be deleted.
Find more friends
You can use People You May Know to find friends on Facebook. People You May Know suggests friends based on shared friendships, being in the same Facebook group, or your common networks.
To find more friends to add, you can upload your contacts from your mobile phone or email accounts.
