| I think David was referring to the list of members and former members of
| the working group. I note that the "former members" list in particular
| has a number of people from Desktop Publishing companies on it (Quark
| and Adobe leap out).

I believe there is a HUGE differece between being "former member", currrent
"member" and poster on <www-style> mailing list.
Yes, Quark and Adobe are mentioned in some W3C specs, but so far only people
from Netscape, Microsoft and Opera post there.
(under thier own names; I also do not count people working on non-profit
projects or CSS enthusiasts)

Obviously, W3C CSS WG work (and work of other WG) is closed to "ordinar"
people, as it was discussed several times here and on other lists.
You need to pay pretty big amount of $$$ in order to have some influence on
W3C decision making.
While I do not like this much, I accpet it as a fact.
Especially if it doesn't touch one of my core interests.

as about possibility for "vertical positioning" and 'inline-block' - it
touches are of my core interests.
Therefor I will continue to post on those topics, now and next year ;-)
[until I find a way to join W3C with _decision-making_ rights ]
