While Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight is akin to a traditional Spielbergian blockbuster, Matt Reeves’ The Batman is far more Hitchcockian and subjective in its approach to storytelling. The camera angles and use of perspective and blocking in its framing heavily remind me of Wong Kar-wai’s style of filmmaking.
