Utterly incredible, a deeply uncomfortable and regrettably relatable emotional odyssey of media nostalgia.
In an age of iPad babies and generations living lives entirely on screens, media has began to play enormous roles in shaping peoples lives; their world-view, opinions and tastes. Moreover, media plays a large part in filling peoples lives too, especially kids who struggle to make friends, a favourite TV show becomes a most cherished memory.
Without spoiling the plot, which I feel is best experienced blind, letting its disturbing trippy intensity wash over you, this is a must see and one of the most original unique experiences of the year. The film making here is absolutely engrossing and authentic to its 90s time period, and the TV series in the film looks wild.
