Juror #2

I was interested in seeing this, but it didn’t release in a theater near me. It just came to MAX this past week, so we fired it up and watched it tonight.

I liked it, but I wanted it to be more. The concept was cool, but the pacing dragged too much in certain spots and it felt tedious. There were many plot holes in certain scenes that made it feel as though they didn’t do enough research on certain aspects of the story or just certain ideas in general.

The acting was very good. Toni Collette was amazing as the lawyer, and Nicholas Hoult gave a strong lead performance. And J.K. Simmons owned every scene he had. But I think that Clint doesn’t quite have the same spark as a director as he did 20 years ago, and this was not as good as so much of what he’s done before. I think this will be his last movie, which isn’t a bad ending, but it is disappointing. I liked it, but was hoping for more.
