William Cutting i.e Bill the Butcher is an absolute top tier villan commanded by Daniel Day Lewis into legendary status.
This movie really did a great job in the scene setting, production design, costumes and almost all facets of itself, except for that ending.
Kind of leaves you cinematically blue balled after you've invested 2.5 hours into a revenge narrative to end so abruptly, but a gorgeously crafted and executed movie that sadly teeters right below iconic.
