The Last Showgirl 2024
Perfectly cast, it hits all the notes of that kinda indie slice of life genre that I love so much. I enjoyed the premise and thinking about what happens when beauty is no longer currency for women. Overall I liked it, it did feel more like a montage of clips which made climactic scenes fall kind of flat especially around the mother/daughter dynamic. All I could think is thank god for feminism. Very Coppola!

I grew up knowing nothing about Bob Dylan never had that arc of caring to discover his music in middle school. Soooo I enjoyed this! I’m playing Joan Baez rn bc I want to know everything about her already.
Timmy is just a fantastic actor and the entire cast showed up to work! It was a formulaic biopic but it worked for me personally. The film made me mourn what the music industry is bc stories like his just feel so impossible now
Edit: I left the theatre feeling really curious about folk music and its legacy/history, I was not familiar with their game.
