Not as good as the brass plates movie and this feels somewhat trite in a lot of places. Lemuel's voice is still a joy to listen to, but that's comedy in the midst of something meant to be serious. My wife was commenting that portraying singing and dancing as being bad might not be the right message for kids either and I agree, I also laughed out loud when she compared tying up Nephi to Footloose.

It feels like this modern generation is afraid of old people having sex or being viewed sexually. The film couldn't even use real old people for its elderly homicidal couple. This film is just boring, hamfisted, obnoxious, and also trash. I'm gonna be having fun as an 80 year-old man being rushed to the hospital for enjoying my wife's sags and wrinkles, and I'm gonna be proud of that.
