  This was such a mess. The amount of things that felt wrong with this film was overwhelming and I'm not sure where one could begin to remedy it.

  The strange drawn-out tempo, distant shots and the overall plot structure made it nearly impossible to form any meaningful connection or relationship with the characters and, unfortunately, the treatment of the characters and their experiences with abuse (physical and emotional) felt incredibly gratuitous all throughout.
