An unsung classic from the 80s. Brilliantly capturing the filth and urban decay of New York City, to the point that the city itself becomes a character, and you can almost smell how bad it was back then. It sets the viewer in a very dark place below the streets under NY tunnel ways where your always on edge wondering what’s going to pop up, infected homeless or the mutated monsters? The creature effects and makeup were stupid good. The CHUD looked so gooey and gross. Great soundtrack and a great cast led by none other than a Sticky Bandit, Daniel Stern and Mr. McCallister! Those two together...where do I sign? They were awesome to see in this. The music slaps and does a real good job of setting up scenes and events. I grew up on these cheesy horror movies and I'm still love them to this day! This is absolutely 100% 80s Horror and I love it! It does take a bit to get going though and there were a couple low key boring moments but it's just another classic 80s cheese fest!
