I'm telling yall rn to not sleep on Lam Ngai Kai! Within the last six months he was skyrocketed to being one of my favorite all-time directors and this movie continues to prove that to me. I feel like he just *gets* how to handle camp and exploitation.

This is a rape-revenge movie that damn nesr perfectly balances everything it sets out for. Its an exploitation flick that's overindulgent, but not stupid! It's dark and I mean *morbid* at points.…

An offbeat psychological horror thriller that's like Lars and the Real Girl meets Maniac.

Went into this one knowing it was strange but it taps into something oddly surreal and dreamy. I can't put my finger on it but this movie is like a psychosexual dream you'd have when you're a teenager & you wake up and think to yourself "what the fuck is wrong with me?" Yall it's my birthday! I have made it a tradition now to watch Wizard of Oz on my big day. It brings me so much comfort and just puts the biggest smile on my face. A perfect movie. The only musical I've given a 5☆ to.

There is a magic dripping from every frame. The sets and glass painting backgrounds omggg. The technicolor cinematography that just jumps off the screen omggg. I adore the use of live birds and animals, too, making the environments feel so lived-in. So many iconic moments and lines. The epitome of classic cinema and "they don't make movies like this anymore"

I can't say much other than my heart hurts. One of the greatest filmmakers of all time and an easy personal favorite of my twenties. Twin Peaks is my favorite TV show of all-time and that will never change. Mulholland Drive is one of my favorite movies of all-time and that will never change. He was one-of-a-kind and the creativity he brought to his art made me appreciate deeper the profound power of the form.

I watched Wild at Heart bc it was one of the few I hadn't seen yet. It was brutal and beautiful. Much like grief.
