The Killers: Unstaged

The Killers: Unstaged

A The Killers concert film directed by Werner Herzog. Sure, why not? Honestly, the Herzog touch is only felt in the opening, when Brandon Flowers shows us around the venue while holding a bald eagle on his arm (such a Werner idea), and when Herzog hangs around backstage with the band before the show (“Razzle them. Dazzle them. Razzle-dazzle them.”). As soon as the show starts, it´s a standard concert film without any gimmicks or interesting insights. Still, it was a good performance, and I realized that I knew more The Killers songs than I was aware of. This film is certainly more interesting for fans of the band than for fans of the director but for Herzog completists, it´s another curiosity hidden in his extensive filmography.
