Thomas’s review published on Letterboxd:
“The Autopsy of Jane Doe” is a surprisingly good modern horror film. It has a fresh and interesting setting, a fantastic creepy and unsettling atmosphere, memorable visuals, and two likable protagonists, who have an enjoyable dynamic.
The first half of the film is especially captivating because of the engaging mystery, the atmosphere, the fascinating and disturbingly explicit depiction of the autopsy, and the great character interactions. The second half is a bit underwhelming and more generic than the beginning, but it´s still suspenseful, entertaining, and impressively crafted. Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox deliver strong performances and Ophelia Lovibond makes an art form out of “lying dead and naked on a table”.
Horror fans should definitely give this film a try.
