Strangers on a Train

Strangers on a Train

Similar to “Rope” and “Dial M for Murder”, “Strangers on a Train” is another Alfred Hitchcock movie about a “perfect murder”. As expected of the master of suspense, the film is masterfully directed, brilliantly crafted, full of fantastic shots, and thrilling from beginning to end. My favorite parts of the movie are the long buildup to the murder and the spectacular finale on the carousel. Farley Granger (Phillip from “Rope”) is great, but Robert Walker definitely delivers the most memorable performance of the movie. His Bruno Antony is such a fascinating and charismatic psychopath. Not as iconic as Norman Bates, of course, but still one of my favorite Hitchcock bad guys. The master director´s daughter Patricia is another scene stealer of the film. If you want to watch a quintessential Alfred Hitchcock movie, “Strangers on a Train” is the perfect film for you. I enjoyed it very much. I know it is a cliché thing to say, but they just don´t make movies like this anymore.
