Thomas’s review published on Letterboxd:
As I´ve said before, the timeless appeal of Charles Dickens´ novella is so strong that I will enjoy every adaptation on some level. That being said, the Edwin L. Marin version is not one of the memorable ones. Neither the filmmaking nor the Scrooge performance stand out much (though it´s all on a decent level) and the movie is a bit too rushed. Why would you cut out Scrooge´s lost love? That´s the most tragic part of his backstory and a major reason for his bitterness. Anyways, this adaptation is sweet, wholesome, and magical enough for an enjoyable time.
