I couldn't do it. I was home sick, lying in bed with a daughter of similar age to the protagonist's watching cartoons in the next room. And at the 35 minute mark, I knew what would happen with the daughter and the dog. I didn't want to see it but I did. And I paused the movie to reflect but I kept going then paused it again and thought that maybe I don't like movies steeped in dread as much as I thought I did. This is obviously a very well made movie and, from what I can tell in the first 40 minutes at least, it does what it sets out to do. But first a pregnant woman and then a little girl and I guess I'm softer as I get older. I just didn't want to share this well made misery any more. No rating, did not finish.
