The Media Diorama’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wish Wolverine ripped out Deadpool’s vocal cords to shut him the fuck up! Let’s keep this short and sweet, as I hate reviewing superhero films at the best of times (fanbases take everything personally…). Liked a couple of the fan service cameos, some decent action sequences when not soaked in CGI blood, one or two quips maybe brought a smile upon my face, soundtrack slapped, nice Fox homage in the credits and Jackman once again proves Wolverine will forever be his role. The original costume actually suits him too!
Other than that, obnoxiously exhaustive as expected. Five writers and clearly the only unfunny quip they like repeating is “Fox is dead, hello Disney!” - literally the fourth wall breaks are just broken by this point. Too many characters for the sake of fan service which ultimately distract from the main story. Ironic calling out multiverse films for being rubbish and, well, here we are. Nova was a wasted villain. Super wonky CGI at the best of times. Having two invulnerable characters stab the shit out of each other for thirty minutes really just does nothing.
So yeah, it’s another watchable mediocre Deadpool mess and I’m miserable as per usual. We move on…
