    Killers of the Flower Moon

    ★★★½

While I wasn't moved by this film in the way I hoped I would be, I thought it was an interesting story. I can't say I wasn't expecting more of a crime thriller after watching the trailer and knowing what Scorsese excells at. In this film he takes more of a slower, deliberate approach focused on the characters. I thought DiCaprio did a good job of transforming from the movie star we know him as to an average Joe loser…

  • Speak No Evil

    Speak No Evil

Liked this as much as the original. Nothing amazing but both solid horror/thriller flicks.

I also enjoyed seeing a different 3rd act.

  • In the Name of the Father

In the Name of the Father

This is Paradise Lost except instead of goth kids it's Irish kids. Daniel Day-Lewis gives one hell of a performance as expected. It seems the British legal system is just as fucked up as the American one.

  • Deadpool & Wolverine

    Deadpool & Wolverine

    ★★★

I went into this with my expectations in check. All I wanted was some funny lines and badass action scenes. Deadpool and Wolverine delivers on half of that. The jokes were great but I found the action scenes slightly underwhelming save the opening sequence and the car scene. The character arcs were boring and unconvincing and the story/plot was easily forgettable.

This felt like the usual crap Marvel has been releasing the past few years but it was atleast more entertaining to watch because of the humor and violence.

The multiverse concept has never been as melancholic, touching, and funny as it is in this film.

  • Kinds of Kindness

    Kinds of Kindness

    ★★★½

Alot to chew on thematically while still being somewhat grounded (except for the second story). Although some parts began to lose steam for me, I really enjoyed alot of this. It was funny, original, weird and each story had a satisfying ending. Didn't like this nearly as much as Poor Things but Lanthimos still remains a director with a unique voice that makes me excited to see anything he creates.

    Despicable Me

    ★★★½

Watched this with my niece and sister and it was a blast. Was happily surprised to see some crude humor that absolutely would not be shown in a more recent animated kids film. It's no masterpiece but it's the kind of kids movie everybody in the family can enjoy.

  • Dune: Part Two

    Dune: Part Two

    ★★★★★

Going into this I already knew it was going to be something special. Knowing Villeneuve's nearly flawless track record coupled with the already impressive Dune Part One, I was nothing short of exhilarated to finally sit down and witness the second half of one of my favorite novels.

Needlessly to say, the film knocked it out of the park. With a book that deals so much with internal thoughts, I'm still in shock how well Villeneuve was able to capture…

Didn't know I liked action-horror until this movie. Surreal and badass
