AJ Soprano would cross over from New Jersey to New York just to beat up a blind kid.

Ayo, I rate movies based on vibes ‘round here, pal, all right? This is what I say when I like an objectively shitty movie. Daredevil is oozing, absolutely dripping with style. Mark Steven Johnson had a vision, and he executed it, for that I give him respect because it stands out, it tries to be something…whether that something is good or not…

I haven’t watched this many movies in one day in like 2 years, it’s been a wonderful ride today folks! I remember the promotional toys for the movie, I remember loving the movie, I remember begging my parents for the VHS until they finally caved. I do not, however, remember the more adult moments. The movie pretty candidly depicts death at a level I had forgotten, but clearly subtly enough that kid me wasn’t aware? Maybe I was a dumb…

Would’ve been better if they kissed.

Why is this movie so fucking dark? I can’t see half the cool stuff going on, well that and the editing during action sequences makes it hard to tell what’s happening which is a bummer cause a Predator Xenomorph hybrid is a great concept. For some reason I was getting Jurassic Park vibes, not the story or anything but just certain shots and their setup felt an awful lot like key moments from the Spielberg movie but far inferior.

No movie has or will have two of their leads be as hot as Kurt Russell and Keith David were in The Thing. Good lord. Not fully getting an answer at the end (you could speculate, sure) only intensifies the consuming paranoia and confusion leaving me holding my breath even as the credits roll. John Carpenter, you are a king.

Today is the first day I have NOTHING planned in two month, I will be spending the day watching movies and relaxing baby!!

    Okay, on to the review:

I’m not going to lie to y’all most of the effects are actually pretty kickass. It’s a shame that the lighting, characters, editing, dialogue, and story all absolutely do not kickass. Paul W.S. Anderson doesn’t excite me unfortunately.

Gromit’s nose is so shiny I want to bite it. Genuinely, this might be the cleanest and best looking stop motion movie to date. It’s filled with puns, jokes, and fun to back up its stylish look. Still can’t believe Wallace actually said the title, had me in stitches.

  • Summer Camp

    Summer Camp

    ★★

The blooper reel at the end was easily the most entertaining part of Summer Camp. This cast is like a murderers row of talented award winning performers but with the trajectory of their careers as of late, what we receive is something messy, overacted, and sickeningly feel-good. At least they all appeared to be having a good time on set! Not the best way to start 2025.

    ★★★

We’ve seen a lot of movies with the exact same message and themes over the years, but at least this one adds something fun, mythical, and creative into the mix to shake it up. Amy Adams’ performance cannot be overstated, she’s phenomenal but the movie doesn’t match her strong leading performance. And there it is folks, my last movie of 2024!

I need to see more of this from Jude Law asap. The run Nicholas Hoult is on a generation run that doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Justin Kurzel captures the 80s world, the disturbing nature of the crimes, and the heartbreaking reality of the story to such a high degree. I was stressed, nauseous, anxious, and angry, a massive array of emotions. For such a lowkey movie with little buzz, this thing absolutely rips.

AYOOOOOOOOOO, I most certainly have permanent eye damage thanks the lens flare lets goooooooo! Aside, the effects are incredibly fun, well done, and the real highlight of Werewolves. For all intents and purposes it’s a B movie but done in A fashion.

Not as captivating or hard hitting as I expected but still a solid courtroom drama. There’s not as much tension as other recent courtroom dramas but there’s enough to get by. Maybe if I had the opportunity to see this on the big screen I’d feel differently? I don’t know, man. Anyway, the fact Clint Eastwood at 94 years old is able to churn this film out certainly heightens my favorable view. Nicholas Hoult is on an all time run of movies right now and this is no different, Toni obviously kills it, and both JK Simmons and Chris Messina work as supporting.

Does a good job of mythologizing the man who is already a mythical figure but fails to show us the man hiding in the myth. We get glimpses here and there of Bob’s transformation but in a hacked and cut way. Timmy C, baby boy, you are rock solid.
