Watching this After Venom: The Last Dance was a choice….

Astounding visual effects. Remarkable cinematography. A breathtaking, haunting score. Thrilling action. Incredible sound design. Strong performances. A gripping and sometimes confusing story, Dune Part Two has it all and it’s all thanks to the brilliant vision of Denis Villeneuve. Gromit’s nose is so shiny I want to bite it. Genuinely, this might be the cleanest and best looking stop motion movie to date. It’s filled with puns, jokes, and fun to back up its stylish look. Still can’t believe Wallace actually said the title, had me in stitches.
The blooper reel at the end was easily the most entertaining part of Summer Camp. This cast is like a murderers row of talented award winning performers but with the trajectory of their careers as of late, what we receive is something messy, overacted, and sickeningly feel-good. At least they all appeared to be having a good time on set! Not the best way to start 2025.
Does a good job of mythologizing the man who is already a mythical figure but fails to show us the man hiding in the myth. We get glimpses here and there of Bob’s transformation but in a hacked and cut way. Timmy C, baby boy, you are rock solid.
Bill Skarsgård is transformative. Transcendent. Lily Rose Depp is incredible, Hoult is continuing his run of success, Willem Dafoe is having a belligerent good time, but Skargård is gonzo. Theres nobody committing harder to characters than him. As is my issue with most Eggers’ movies, I struggled to understand most of the dialogue but frankly this movie is easier to understand than the likes of The Witch so I’ll give it that.
