This movie is the definition of perfect balance to me. It walks the line between horror and thriller. It's incredibly serious and also hilarious. It's terrifying and fucked up but also so fun to watch. It's quite obvious in some respects, but with each rewatch, countless new details are unveiled. The Tree of Life is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The images Malick is able to create are simply mind-boggling.
We meander through Jack’s childhood with little clear plot, but with strong emotional connection. Themes of faith and creation are explored through images and whispered questions.
