I'm so glad I got to see Monkey Man in theaters because it was brilliant. Dev Patel is outstanding - on all levels - in his directorial debut. The action and editing is fantastic, the soundtrack is cool, and it has a heart. The real scene stealer though is Alpha (played by Vipin Sharma) along with all of the Hijra. Also, it was fun to see Sharlto Copely as always. The biggest surprise was seeing Zakir Hussain as the tabla player - I had the chance to see him live a few years ago and it was awesome and it was really fun to see his part here! As much as I like the John Wick movies, I'd say I like Monkey Man a little bit more. I can't wait to see what Dev Patel does next.
