The Last Stop in Yuma County

The Last Stop in Yuma County

There’s been a ton of smaller movies coming out right now that I am scrambling to try and catch. I’m so glad I was able to fit this in last night after the Phantom Menace because it’s such a simple and quaint but really effective little thriller that sets up all the dominoes and takes it’s time more than I thought to knock them all down. There’s a wonderful little slow motion montage where director, Francis Galuppi, shows you all the toys and pieces he’s about to play around with and make a big mess of. It’s a really satisfying movie with great sense of style. I thought the editing was really tight too and between that and the camerawork it did a great job keeping up that tension. Pretty much everyone who shows up in this movie is memorable in some way and adds a unique flavor to the movie. I don’t have a whole lot to say because this little dynamite movie packs only 90 minutes and it’s a perfect in and out kind of experience to have for this movie. It doesn’t really waste a lot of time setting things up and getting this whole thing started. I mainly sought this out because I heard this guy Francis is doing an Evil Dead movie and I’m glad to report I would love to see what this guy has got. I’m impressed by how much tension and excitement he was able to get out of this one little movie so I imagine something on a larger scale he has a bit more room to run around and go even further. But I definitely recommend this little movie and you should tell all your friends about it and see it in the cinema if you can. I love me a Star War and a planet with some apes but we gotta support our indie cinema guys! I mean hell this movie even got the coin toss dude from No Country for old men! I can’t wait to see this one again!
