Als die Elite-Soldatin Parker von dem Tod ihres Vaters erfährt, kehrt sie umgehend in ihre kleine, verschlafene Heimatstadt zurück. Dort angekommen, übernimmt sie die kleine Bar, die ihr von ihrem Vater hinterlassen worden ist. Parker findet jedoch keine Ruhe und beginnt, die Umstände zum Tod ihres Vaters zu recherchieren und gerät damit ins Fadenkreuz einer ortsansässigen kriminellen Organisation, der sie sich mit Hilfe ihrer Freunde entgegenstellen muss.
So generisch die Zusammenfassung wirken mag, so generisch ist leider auch die Handlung des Films. Eine trainierte Kämpferin kommt in ihre Heimatstadt zurück, um die Mörder ihres Vaters zu finden und zu töten. Entsprechend findet man im Film auch keine originellen oder spannenden Ideen, sondern erhält einen Revenge-Action-Thriller nach Schema F. Spaß kann man dennoch mit dem Film von Mouly Surya haben, was für mich vor allem an Jessica Alba liegt. Diese ist sicher nicht die begnadetste Schauspielerin der Welt, aber in Action-Rollen funktioniert sie meines Erachtens wirklich gut. Typischer Netflix-Action-Content, den man aus seinem Gedächtnis radiert hat, bevor die Credits durchgelaufen sind.

When elite soldier Parker learns of her father's death, she promptly returns to her small, sleepy hometown. Upon arrival, she takes over the small bar that was left to her by her father. However, Parker finds no peace and begins to investigate the circumstances of her father's death, landing herself in the crosshairs of a local criminal organization, which she must confront with the help of her friends.
As generic as the summary may seem, unfortunately, the film's plot is just as generic. A trained fighter returns to her hometown to find and kill her father's murderers. Accordingly, the film lacks original or exciting ideas and instead offers a formulaic revenge-action thriller. Nevertheless, you can still have fun with Mouly Surya's film, which for me is mainly due to Jessica Alba. She may not be the most talented actress in the world, but in action roles, I think she works really well. It's typical Netflix action content that you've erased from your memory before the credits have finished rolling.
