Took some time to see Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan and not someone doing a Bob Dylan impression. Also didn't get a sense of what the movie was trying to tell me about Bob — was it about his relationships? What about his sudden rise to fame? Maybe just a lot of exposition to get to his "going electric" controversy? Or MAYBE, the meaning of it all was supposed to be as mysterious as the man himself?

    Maybe I'm thinking…

The energy in this film is "papable." 'Nough said.

(For real though, surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Ralph Fiennes' homily on certainty is still buzzing in my head.)

    ★★

Best part about this movie are the stacked cameos. Otherwise, it's not just unfrosted – it's pretty damn stale.

A brochure of Poland with a killer cousin dynamic. Kiernan and Jesse are perfect in this.

This doc was really insightful to how rare and special this opportunity was, and how gracious all these artists were to each other's contributions. A really fun watch for any pop culture fans!

    Love, love, love it.

Obviously, the commentary of the film was special, but given how the story is told, with this incredible cast, the whole shabang felt entertaining and different. Besides, I love meta humor, and this movie thrives on it.

    Go see it!!!

This one was equally bizarre and special. The story was oddly charming for something that had a real dark underbelly, and I would credit a lot of that to Emma Stone. Between her performance and Yorgo's imaginative vision for the film (I.e. wide cinematography, the color scheme of the worlds she visited, etc.), you see a gradual development as Bella becomes more in touch with herself and the world around her.

Also, the supporting cast? Chef's kiss. Mark Ruffalo's the bad guy?!

9/10, and only because it felt a little lengthy towards the middle. Otherwise, near perfect.

The dichotomy of Jon Batiste's rise to stardom paralleled with his wife's sickness made for an interesting watch... Just wish it left more of an impact. In truth, the story felt deeply moving, but the film's view into it didn't pull me in.

Absolutely loved this one. Might be a holiday watch moving forward. Too much to say in this review, just watch it.

Animation was amazing, and I loved how thoughtful the metaphor was around race/class discrepancies.

Truthfully, wished that it leaned a little bit away from the romantic angle and gave more of a platform to the world itself! Such a cool concept around mixing elements that could've been a little bit more developed.

Other than that, enjoyed the watch!

This movie, somewhat unpredictable and entirely wholesome, finds beauty in both loneliness and companionship. It's short, it's sweet, and I'll never listen to "September" the same way again.
