Cyber Palestine 2000
On one level this is poignant comparison of Mary and Joseph to modern-day Palestinians living under occupation. But I’m also obsessed with the heavy Y2K aesthetic. The electronic James Bond music. Gabriel the angel calling Mary on her Nokia cellphone. The scene where Joseph is trying to start the car. Hilarious. More like Elia Sillyman!

Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
This is shot beautifully, the pacing is great, and it features some great performances (especially by Lily Gladstone). I really loved seeing all the clothes and jewelry of the Osage people, and I was grateful that they weren't so pushed to the margins that they were reduced to token characters.
