Stephen Gillespie’s review published on Letterboxd:
Still one of the greatest films ever made. Rob Reiner helms an adaptation of an already wonderful book in which Goldman adapts his own prose, or should I say Morgenstern’s prose, in such a clever way.
The book plays with the form of a novel very cleverly and those tricks are ditched, replaced with a whole new framing device that takes advantage of the possibilities of cinema instead. You then have Mark Knopfler’s wonderful score, great locations, terrific performances and every line being endlessly quotable.
The sharpest, funniest and warmest film. It never stops being a delight.
