I was really moved by this! Funny and righteous with some great performances. Richard's heroism arises through and because of his flaws. Maybe a couple of bum notes, but it also contains the most cinematic and powerful donut eating scene I can recall.

Definitely a pinnacle of a certain kind of filmmaking, but when Crawford's hand grasps Clarice's at the graduation and lingers there just a touch too long, we get the tiniest glimpse at a much darker and maybe more interesting version of this movie.

The first time I've watched it with other people in the room, and the blasphemy truly hit hard. Wow this movie is offensive. Still 5 stars of course
