Genuinely one of the most personally impactful pieces of art I have ever come across. The style and feel of Birdman is unmatched. From the chaotic score to the performances that are some of the best performances out to film PERIOD. Each and every person brings out so much emotion and realism into their characters but the stand out for me is Michael Keaton who proves time and time again that he is one of the best and most underrated we have right now. I found the one-shot to be a bit gimmicky when I first saw it but on rewatches it’s truly grown on me and I don’t think the frantic, tense feel to the film would be the same with our that.

One of my favourite films ever and this might be a hot take, but I think it deserved winning best picture more than whiplash.
