  Special 70mm Presentation. Paul Thomas Anderson produces probably the most accessible film of his latter output, but one which still provides wonderfully weird moments. Moving, visually stunning-- exquisite filmmaking for grown ups. PHANTOM THREAD displays the precise formality of Kubrick coupled with the darkly humorous romantic elements of Hitchcock. I suspect even more richness will be provided upon repeat viewings. If this is indeed Daniel Day-Lewis's final performance, he definitely went out on a high note.
