The Brutalist 2024
It’s quite shocking to believe that a film that speaks volumes about the relentless struggle and agony that a person went through over almost four decades was actually made and got widespread attention. I’ve been championing films like these for years, it’s so rare to see an ambitious spectacle like this these days.
The Brutalist is a gigantic complex labyrinth that left me speechless the more it unraveled. I’m genuinely blown away by how gorgeous this film looked. Brady Corbet…

Queer 2024
I think it’s easy to say Queer is the film that left me completely speechless with it’s approach and utterly fascinated me with it’s world, all year. The film, just like the protagonist in the film, is very vulnerable. Craig’s character Lee is a sad lonely man who seeks love and comfort so desperately that it’s painful and heartbreaking to see him go through his day to day activities. He bar hops everyday and sleeps with many men to find…

Babygirl 2024
This did not work for me. It was neither erotic nor fun, it’s a bland drama with little humor and good performances. Nicole Kidman was great, she kept this boat stay afloat. I laughed at how silly and idiotic few sequences were, it was bizarre. The pacing was totally off, the film started to loose it’s steam during the second act. Antonio’s voice was weird. The climax was a mess. Other than Nicole’s committed performance, Babygirl had very little to offer!

Intruder 1989
This was a pleasant surprise. I was blown away by good this was directed. Slashers in the 80’s usually tend to have weak performances and bland direction but Scott’s direction here was exciting and fresh. The performances and the characters were fun, though some of them were body bags, I was able to feel for them. The kills were gnarly, bloody and gory. The killer reveal was great. I didn’t like the final scene, I needed a closure for this but it’s okay. A well crafted slasher!

Despicable Me 4 2024
I don’t know man, watching this with a packed crowd was simply the best. There was this 35-40 yr old dude next to me who was dying whenever the minions did something stupid, I was so glad he was having a great time. The crowd was having a blast so I couldn’t help but enjoy this film a lot. The animation here was pretty smooth, it looked great. The humor mostly works. The scene stealer here was that adorable little…

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore 2022
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, I kind of have a soft spot anything from the Wizarding World. I enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts film and I found the second one okay but this one was really good, to be honest this was easily the best one of the trilogy for me.
The whole cast was amazing. Mads Mikkelsen was terrific as Grindelwald, he portrays the role with absolute screen command and ease. Jude Law was great as Dumbledore…
