Shea’s review published on Letterboxd:
A satire that dissects celebrity culture, ego and the troubled mind of an artist, led by two excellent performances by Michael Keaton and Edward Norton, who are perfect for their roles (though that’s not necessarily a compliment). The entire film has a dreamy effect due to the long and lingering takes, spliced together seamlessly to give the illusion of a single shot, and the all-drum soundtrack, which underscores the frenetic energy of backstage. Even if it’s a little too full of ideas, the sheer ambition of it all, combined with an unforgettable ending open to much interpretation, make it a riveting watch and a true standout of the last decade.
