Brimming with passion, surging with sentiment, and unrelenting with over-the-top violence, Dev Patel has greatly succeeded in bringing something so fucking cool to the action genre while also making it his own. Bloodbath action, with all the excessive imagery you could want. Full of vibrancy and passion. It's a touch untidy at times, but that only adds to its allure. There's a surprisingly large amount of political commentary and cultural imagery—much more dense than I initially imagined—though some of it can come across a little blurred. The writing is nothing groundbreaking, but there is a clear conviction that shines through. Such a good time. Also, I ran into Dev Patel in the toilet, and all I could say was, "Dev, alright, mate." Sigh.
