A baffling mash-up of various cultural references and influences, an attempt at a classically 80s meta-slasher that fails horribly in both its attempts to use Mia Goth to the best of her abilities and in tackling the balance between vintage noir and gritty giallo. I'm not sure what the vision for this film was at all. It absolutely starts better than it concludes, but that's not saying much given that the climax can only be described as one of the decade's most brazen attempts by TI West on how to practically destroy your own film. Not good. Not good at all. One of the worst of the year.
